I've been talking about it for a while now, but @mrsbozz and I are finally getting ready to take our big summer road trip out to Colorado soon. I've already been given a tip on a really cool record store I need to check out when I am in the Denver area from someone here on Hive.
I was hoping I might be able to pick the brain of the #silvergoldstackers community a little bit and see if there were any locations in the Denver area that might be of interest to me. I'm specifically looking for reputable bullion or coin dealers as well as historic mining sites for precious metals or anything like that.
Sure, I've always got Google in my back pocket if I need it, but I know the members of this community have done some extensive traveling and have their fingers on the pulse of this sort of thing. I can't guarantee I will make it to all/any of the places you recommend, but I will absolutely consider them and it gives me a place to start!
It is time again for another Finance Friday/Friday Finance. This is a series I started where I talk about random bits of financial stuff that I have seen, gathered, or experienced during the week. I hope as a reader you find it informational, entertaining, or both. I also hope it can generate some good discussion and edify the community.
It's been a bit of a roller coaster this week hasn't it? I find a bit of comfort in the fact that I don't seem to get as bent out of shape when Hive makes big drops like that anymore. Sure, it stings a little bit and it's never fun to see red all over the charts, but we need to remember we are still just getting started in what many think could be the biggest bull run we have ever seen.
Whether that actually ends up being the case still remains to be seen, but I have my fingers and my toes crossed!
Hamster Kombat on Telegram
If you have a Telegram account and you haven't played Hamster Kombat yet, feel free to use my referral link to get started. It's pretty crazy how much this Telegram Tapper style of game has blown up. Although many people feel we are on the downward side of opportunity, there are still tons of people joining every day.
Last I checked the community was somewhere around a couple hundred million users and they still haven't launched the token yet. The best thing you can do right now is just tap to earn and buy the in game cards which will be used to determine your airdrop amount. If you have fooled around with faucets in the past, Hamster Kombat is a lot more engaging than one of those.
Plus, who knows what the token might do...
Matic
I'm still sitting on a bunch of MATIC from my time fooling around with PolyCub. I was seeing for a while there that people were getting really excited about MATIC saying it was going to be the next big thing in the coming bull run. It kind of feels like the excitement has died down since then.
I really hope that isn't the case, I'd like to see a nice pump on MATIC to boost my bags for the next bear market. What do you think readers? Are you feeling the same sentiment as me on Polygon? Are you still bullish on it? I'd love to hear your thoughts. Even if it's just a little reassurance that I haven't thrown my money away!
SplinterRents
In case you missed it, the SplinterRents service has closed up shop. I can't say I am that surprised. The game has done a lot of damage to the rental market over the past couple of months. It's been pretty sad to see my rental income dwindle from thousands of DEC per day down to hundreds (if I'm lucky). I never would have imagined that Byzantine Kitty would be going for less than 10 DEC per day.
I've since moved all of my cards back to my main account and I am kind of giving up on the dream of Splinterlands ever providing me with a reasonable passive income. I can't imagine how hard it must be to balance bringing in new players with keeping your initial investors happy, but I kind of feel like they are failing on all accounts lately.
I don't have any better options or solutions though, so maybe I should just keep my mouth shut...
RUG
I'm looking forward to the launch of the RUG token (today I think). I took some of the HIVE that I have been saving up to move into HBD should the price pump and threw that at the RUG token started by @silverstackeruk. Don't let the name fool you, as others like @dbooster have mentioned, the name is a joke, but the ideas behind the token are proven and sound. Just look to the success of SPI if you have any doubts.
Between DBOND, DAB, and now RUG, my Hive Engine portfolio is getting back to a very nice place despite all the red we have been seeing lately.
