Good morning, warriors! Hope you're all getting closer to your set targets. My philosophy is: win or lose, there's always something to learn.
When this new season started, I decided to focus solely on Modern Ranked Battles. The reason was my Glint target — I set a personal goal of 75,000 Glint by the end of the season. I've just crossed 65,000 Glint in total, with only 9 days left to go.
My progress in Frontier Ranked has stalled a bit, so today I’ve decided to resume playing Frontier Ranked and allow my energy bar for Modern to build up to a decent level before I return to it.
Starting from a trophy reset count of 2,400 in Gold League, I’m currently at 3,120,with a win rate of 73.53% and my target is to hit 4,000.
And to get into the leaderboard,I still need to fight in 66 battles as shown above.

Today in Frontier Ranked, I did a lot. Firstly, I was only able to get two chests from the daily 3 chests yesterday .However, it was swift and smooth completing the daily 3 chests today. This brought my total to 5 chests from hard-fought battles. I went straight to opening them using my alchemy and legendary portions.And the result was so satisfactory on opening the chests 🧰
I got 5 rare cards and 1 epic card.And among the 5 rare cards two were Archons(Summoners).I had them already at maxed level(Thalgrimore and Marlai Singaliel).Even the main reason for this post,the Dread Tafarian, is among the collections as well.
FEATURED CARD.
Now to the main topic of this post. I hardly post about Frontier Ranked battles — the majority of my posts are centered on Modern Ranked battles. However, this particular battle featuring Dread Tafarian caught my attention. He literally gave his all in this 14 rounds of gruesome battle and came out victorious.
Tafarian is a common earth element with its unique self heal ability,it has a mana cost of 9,with a melee attack of 2,health 8, speed 2 and armor 1 at max level.
Battle:
Ruleset and lineups.
The total mana cost was 40 and splinters are to be chosen from Fire,Earth and Death elements.
And the rules are;
You can only summon rare and common units.
You cannot summon units with ranged attack.
My lineup
Summoner Aurelia, +1 Health to all friendly units.
- Dread Tafarian (Tank) – Melee + Heal → The Absolute MVP.
- Mad Gearhead – Melee + Reach
- Vengeful Monk – Melee + Opportunity
- Vicious Quilliun – Melee + Opportunity
- Kanaak Miner – Melee + Sneak
Opponent’s Lineup
Sunmmoner Thalgrimore -1 Health to all enemy units.
- Nim Guard Captain (Tank) – Melee + Void
- Spellmonger – Thorns
- Vengeful Monk – Opportunity
- Arcane Curator – Backfire
- Kanaak Miner – Sneak
- Savage Butcher– Reach
I am already at a numerical disadvantage,my opponent fielded 6 monsters against my 5.
Round 1 It was a brutal pure melee affair.Just tanks, fists, and chaos.
Round 2, towards the end of this round both side had lost one monster each.
Round 7,from here onwards,the Dread Tafarian was on a different level. Its self-healing ability allowed it to repeatedly recover health in the middle of the slugfest, completely neutralizing Thalgrimore’s -1 Health debuff and the opponent’s damage
.
Round 14, one against one and tank healing still very much active for Dread.

My Verdict
Dread Tafarian's performance highlights why self-healing tanks are valuable in Frontier Ranked, especially against health-nerfing summoners.
Despite being down a monster and facing a health debuff, the Dread Tafarian completely carried the game. Its powerful self-healing ability let it survive heavy punishment round after round, effectively neutralizing both the numerical disadvantage and Thalgrimore’s -1 Health.
