Namaste and Wish you all a Very Happy New Year!
This week's Splinterlands Community Engagement Challenge is about a fundamental aspect of gameplay, where we will be discussing levels of cards, their benefits and how to Level up cards by Combining them and use them with their improved stats and abilities.😎
Let's start from the very basics so that you don't get confused at any point. All the cards available on Splinterlands are made up of many different compounds such as rarities, BCX, levels, elements, stats, etc. There are a total of 4 types of rarities in cards:
- Common (grey)
- Rare (Blue)
- Epic (Purple)
- Legendary (Yellow)
For now, we will focus only on the Modern Common cards, mainly because those cards are part of the deck of everyone from beginners to professionals.
Now let us understand step by step how you can access all your available cards and find out all the important information about them.
From the top left menu on the game's home page, you have to click on ITEMS and then click on CARDS. From here you can see all the cards currently available in your deck.
As soon as you click on CARDS, a new page will open in which you will be able to see all your available cards on the screen. Here on the left side you will also see various types of filters with the help of which you can easily access any card. In the above screenshot, these red cards symbolize the FIRE element but to find out which element a card belongs to, you need to look at the element symbol in a circle in the middle of the card. Like..
Above you can see 5 random cards of 5 main elements and in the middle of each card the symbol of that element is highlighted with white ellipses. And the colour of the circle in which these symbols are marked indicates rarity. For example, in the above screenshot, all the element symbols are marked in grey circles on the cards, which means these are COMMON rarity cards.
Now let's take an example of any random common card.
Every card starts with a copy which is called BCX (Base Card experience) in Splinterlands. 1 BCX is equals to 1 copy of a card. In the beginning we all have level 1 cards with 1 BCX. Cards get stronger as we level up how many cards we need to level it up depends on it's rarity. Here the example card is a level 1 card of common rarity and to level it up we will need 4 copies, after which by merging all of them this card will become level 2. You can see the details of any card by clicking on the STATS on the top right of the same page.
For a maximum level you need to have 115 copy's of a card. Here in stats you can see how with every increasing level your card's strength, health, speed and abilities increase and improve. Imagine a battle where both you and your enemy have this card but you have made this card a part of your team with the highest level at the same mana cost and your enemy has this card of level 1. Your card will have comparatively +2 melee, +3 speed and +1 health along with one more ability. Now you can imagine how much strength your team with such cards will give you on the battlefield.
But here is a clause: You can only play the higher-level cards with a leveled-up summoner. You can see the list in the summoner stats the same way. As you keep adding and combining copies, the level of your card will keep increasing and you will get better stats in the same card. And there is no shortcut to this, yes, I also had this confusion in the beginning. You must have higher-level summoners as well if you want to use a card at its full strength by reaching higher levels.
You can buy these cards by clicking For Sale from the Items page or you can also rent them if you want to test before buying. This is a direct link for you to access your card collection.
Apart from this, if you want to make a brand new card a part of your deck, then through this link you can visit the Market page, where you will find many more unique and powerful cards of Splinterlands. Here I would suggest you to rent a new card for a few days before buying it directly and play some battles with it and understand its weaknesses and strengths. This will help you in choosing the best cards for your deck.
