From time to time I see powerup day posts, Hive powerup, Leo powerup, Pizza powerup, etc. So why don't we have SPS Powerup Day? Given that we are in a very bearish game economy, I still believe that Splinterlands will survive and thrive in the future. And there's no better way to support Splinterlands than to buy and stake the SPS token.
SPS has dipped below a cent and I see this as a good buying opportunity. Among all of the layer 2 tokens in Hive, I believe that SPS is more likely to have the highest gains once the sentiment turns around. Even getting back to a cent would be a 25% gain. And I couldn't imagine SPS going any lower than the current value. (Not financial advice but my own opinion.)
I now have 10,000 SPS staked which isn't a lot but I believe it's a good starting point for what I intend to do. I plan to power it up every week and my target is 1,000 SPS each SPUD. It currently has 13% APR from the SPS and VOUCHER rewards. And all we need is a bit of a bump even in just VOUCHERs to see a decent increase in the APR. This may entice more players to stake more SPS or play more battles. I see the new wild format pass as a good outlet for VOUCHER burning. But first, we need to increase the SPS value to at least a cent in order to attract players to the wild format. And it starts with buying and staking SPS. So here's my first SPS Powerup Day contribution.
1,000 SPS is around $8 at the moment. I believe my weekly blog rewards can just about cover that up. I hope that SPS Powerup Day becomes a thing so we can help the game get back on its feet. There's not really a downside to increasing one's SPS stake if we are believers in the long-term success of Splinterlands. I'm looking forward to the day that I am no longer able to support the weekly 1,000 SPS powerup because it has become so expensive.😃
