Opening some Packs in Splinterlands

I have been playing a lot of games lately and went a bit inactive at Splinterlands. A lot of games to play and we just have one lifetime, how unfair...right? If you follow my blog you can see all the games I play and left uncompleted. I have a big backlog of games always building up. But I won't forget Splinterlands games which attracted me to this blockchain and introduced me to the world of decentralization social media. What an incredible journey it has been.

I opened up Splinterlands after some time and noticed that the UI looked a bit different. Slick and sharp...so the devs are working on improving it. Also, there were active sales for a couple of new cards.

I wasn't much interested in them as I wanted to take a slight gamble and open a few packs and see what I could get. I got a Legendary 'River Hellondale' last time I opened a Chaos Legion Pack. I wished I had some Glint too so I could purchase some specific rarity of cards. But for now, I had to take the risk and open some packs. I don't have a lot of them. This is what I have only.

I had 8 Gladius Cases and 7 Chaos Legion Packs. I was checking the prices of those Chaos Legion packs they were selling for around 0.38$ which was much cheaper than I remember.

I went with the Chaos Legion first and here are the results.

This felt like such a huge disappointment. Just one rare among them. The others were not any special either. I only liked the Silent Sha-Vi among these five cards.

Yeah, the Merdaali Guardian comes in handy with some strategies in water splinter but it is very limited. From a legendary last time to not even epic this was quite a change.

But I still had more packs maybe my luck will change. I was hoping for it badly and went ahead and opened the Gladius pack.

This felt better than the last one. I like the Isgald Vorst a lot and it is quite helpful in some compositions. Also, it had an epic which was an improvement for sure. The values of these cards were harder to judge as they are gladiator cards and their true value is tougher to assess. But overall, it wasn't the worst I ever got...lol.

I wasn't satisfied with these and went for another Chaos Legion Pack. Let's see what we will get this time.

It was certainly better than the last Chaos Legion pack. That one was a disaster but this one wasn't that bad. It had three rares where I loved the Mycelic Slipspawn the most. I used this specific unit a lot of times in my lineup. It always makes me smile getting this as a reward or from out of packs.

And don't forget the Hardy Stonefish, just a one-man unit but even got a shield. What else can you expect from it? It would be nice to get an epic or legendary but you are not lucky every time, I guess.

You can see the value of this pack in Peakmonsters. According to this, I lost money by opening this chest. But I guess you take that risk in search of a Gold Foil Legendary...hehe.

I hope Splinterlands can reach its former glory. I was drawn to Hive just because of this game and I hope the best for Splinterlands.
