Hello Splinterlands lovers!
‘Conclave Arcana’ - this particular word is most probably the most used Keyword in Hive blockchain right now. No matter if you play splinterlands or not, you must have already came across numerous blogs posts around this term and loads of tweets in X. Still, if you were hiding in underground bunker and just came out, Conclave Arcana is the newest edition card-set that just got introduced in the game and just on 11 May, Conclave Arcana finished its presale. Right now, the general sale is live, where you can buy all 4 different types of booster packs. Now talking about the presale, no doubt it is the most successful presale ever that happened in Splinterlands, including all 6 core cards and mini-sets that got released in this game. It really feels great to see my favourite blockchain game going mainstream and over time, more and more people and getting onboarded and playing this game. Anyway, just like many of you, I also took part in the presale and bought 417 Alchemy packs for myself and when the general sale started and packs became available to open, I immediately opened them all with the excitement of what I would get from the lot. So in this post, I will be sharing what ai pulled from all those packs and if you are interested, let’s take a dive without further ado.
I was preparing for this presale for a long time and have been saving money in HBD savings. But when the presale announcement post finally got published, I literally dropped my jaw seeing so many cool rewards allocated for the presale buyers - from free Rare and Legendary promo cards to Leaderboard and raffle rewards, there were so many things to loot and I couldn’t in any way leave this opportunity. So I thought to make a group and buy a bulk amount together and started looking for partners. Gladly, one of my fellow Splinterlands friends agreed to join the cause. Together, we bought 10 million + DEC worth of packs with the hope of securing a top position in the leaderboard, but who knew the whales were planning even bigger this time? To everyone’s surprise, Splinterlands has sold over 2.4 million USD worth of packs just in presale and around 700k USD worth of packs got sold only in the last 6 hours! Obviously, I didn't even in my wildest dreams expect this to happen and while I was so happy to see the success of Conclave Arcana presale, I did lose my place from not only top 20 but top 30 and ended up at 43rd position when the presale finally ended. We won a total of 275 promo cards from the draw and another Gold foil Rare promo cards + Epic title from the leaderboard rewards, but nothing from the raffle, which I expected, seeing so many packs sold off. Anyway, now without any further delay, let me jump straight into the point and show you all what I got from my share of 417 Alchemy packs below.
Let’s start with the most exclusive, expensive and unique cards that got introduced with the CA edition cardset, the Black Foil cards. These are the newest card foils that came into existence with the CA edition cards and foil wise, they are the rarest and powerful foils in the game now, even more than gold foil cards. These Black foil cards come out directly as max level cards, so you don't need to upgrade them anymore. With the Black Foil cards, Splinterlands has introduced a brand new Potion called Midnight potion, which increases the chance to get a black foil by 2X and unlike the Legendary or Alchemy potions which are sold by the game, this new potion will only be produced by players using their lands plot and sold in the potion market, opening a new earning source for players and investors. Anyway, I bought the alchemy packs just to get my hands on these cards, because alchemy packs hold the highest chance of getting these cards and coupled with Midnight potion, you can increase that chance even more, which I did exactly and bought 2085 Midnight Potions for around 175$. Now, without any further ado, let me show the Black Foil cards that I received from my packs below.
As you can see, I received a total of 6 Black Foil cards after opening all my Alchemy CA packs and 3 of them are common, 2 rare and 1 Epic card. These black foil cards can be easily recognised by looking at the black background of the card and as you can see, all these 6 cards are max level cards. Now let’s take a look at each of them below.
Ashen Cindergrim
- This card belongs to the Fire element and it is a common type of card. This card’s attack type is magic and it costs 4 mana to be used in battles. It belongs to the Dwarf bloodline and apart from a decent magic attack, it also carries a large health and high speed and also comes with 3 abilities - Opportunity, Painforge and Silence.
Water Diviner
- This little dude belongs to the Water element and it costs only 2 mana to be used in battles. It is also a magic thrower card with a large health bar, high speed and a little armour on its back. It is a Rare type of card that belongs to the Gnome bloodline and comes with 3 abilities - Electrified, Opportunity and Stun.
Abyssal Element
- This is the best Black Foil card I received and I was surprised to see its print count, which is #1! This is an Epic type card that belongs to the water element, comes from the Elemental bloodline and costs 6 mana to be used in battles. The attack type of this card is Magic and it comes with a large health, decent speed and a strong armour. Apart from its high level stats, it also holds 2 powerful abilities - Blast and Relentless Strike.
Thunderous Herald
- This is the fourth card I received and is a common type of card belonging to the Life element. Surprisingly, the attack type of this card is also magic and it costs 6 mana to be used in battles. It comes from the Ulund bloodline and possesses a pretty large health at decent speed with a little armour on it and comes with 3 cool abilities - Enfeeble, Relentless Strike and Execute.
Boring Hobgoblin
- This is a common type of card that belongs to the Neutral element and it costs 5 mana to be used in your battle lineup. After getting 4 magic cards, it is the first Melee card to appear in Black Foil and it comes from the Goblin bloodline. It possesses good health at decent speed with a strong armour and I think this card will be very useful for its set of 3 abilities - Sneak, Reveal and Silence.
Anyu Huntswoman
- The sixth and last black foil card that I received is the Huntswoman and this card is a Rare type card that belongs to the Neutral element and comes from the Human bloodline. It costs a large 7 mana to be used in battles and its attack type is also Melee. Apart from its deadly melee attack, it also possesses a large health bar, good speed and an iron-strong armour on her, making her almost indestructible by small or medium level monsters.
I hope you enjoyed reading my post about the Black foil cards that I received. Please let me know your thoughts about this new cardset in the comments section below, and I look forward to seeing you all in my next post.

Thanks for visiting my post, hope we meet again!
