Hello Splinterlands Summoners and welcome to another edition of Social Media Challenge! Our last guild brawl performance was a bit disappointing. It seems our guild members are still getting used to the new cards and have not yet found winning strategies around it. As for me, I'm also looking for card synergies and combinations that will help me win battles. I'm trying to look for cards that will replicate my strategies in the Chaos Legion set.
Recent Card Purchases
I continue to be on the lookout for cards and keep buying them once a good buying window presents itself and I added some more in my deck.

My recent card purchases include a gold foil Silverleaf Warlock, a level 2 Water Diviner and an Archor Koi.
The Silverleaf Warlock is a welcome addition to my deck. Being an elf, he can be used by my strongest archon. He also gets the ability, Execute which I found very useful in battles. The Water Diviner brings great damage for only two mana. I can use him with my Death archon who grants the Painforge ability to gnomes and will take advantage of the Water Diviner's Electrified ability. The Archer Koi was added to my deck because of its Repair ability which I used to sustain my tank.
Finding Synergy in the Era of Conclave Arcana
To be able to compete, I'm slowly building my Conclave Arcana deck. Luckily, when it was announced that Chaos Legion will be out, I frantically built my Rebellion rewards deck and I already got them to the level I wanted them save some legendary cards I'm still missing but most of them are at a competitive level and gives me and edge over others who don't have them. I'll share some battles where I have concepts of synergy though they are not as smooth as my prior team.
Battle 1 - Brawling with the New Modern Cards
In this battle, I feature the new Earth team I'm now using. I was lucky to buy a couple of gold foil Kaylia Silverleaf for less than $11 each. At level 3, she is my highest level archon at the moment, all others are at level 2.
This battle was from our recent guild brawl where our guild ended in last rank.
Folen Flameeye (tank)
Folen Flameeye doesn't offer that much sustainability as a tank. He has no shield and only eight health. What he does have is three melee damage and three speed bringing offense in the tank position. But the reason I use him is because of his Flank ability, allowing me to bring another tank in the second position where it can attack.
Warborn Chieftain (second position/offtank)
I didn't have that much appreciation for the Warborn Chieftain, also a tank with no armor. Before, I preferred the Pelacor Mercenary as my main tank. Now, I can use my Warborn Chieftain unlocked at level 2. He deals four melee damage, has three speed and seven health. Although he has no armor, he has a shield ability that reduces ranged and melee attacks. He also has Phase which helps him dodge magic attacks.
Thanalorian Blade (third position)
I'm growing to appreciate elves and their Execute ability granted by Kaylia. Although the Thanalorian Blade already has the ability by herself. She does two melee attack and has three speed. She also has an armor and five health.
Katrelba Gobson (fourth position)
I chose Katrelba this time for my gladiator card instead of Quora. This battle is for thirty eight mana and I wanted to play with more cards. Eleven mana Quora will severely limit the cards I can play like my opponent who only fielded four cards against my six.
Blackmoor Wildelf
Blackmoor Wildelf is another card I rarely used but now found utility with her two magic damage and Execute ability granted by Kaylia. She has become an offensive weapon and has taken out opponent units in several battles.
Halaran Huntress
Halaran Huntress deals two magic damage for four mana. I also use her in Earthquake rulesets where her flying ability gives her an advantage.
Opponent Team
The opponent used a four man team anchored on Quora. The rest of his team is composed of magic units including Lord Thanalor. On the other hand, my archon Kaylia decreases magic attack by one so he was at a disadvantage.
The Battle
My tank was eliminated first but my team also disposed of the enemy Quora. Once his Quora was gone, the battle was easier. His Lord Thanalor put some resistance because of his huge health but my team eventually whittled it down and I won the battle.
Battle 2 - Fire Splinter
Next to Kaylia Silverleaf, my favorite archon is Fithe Bladestone. I like the two armor he gives the team and his Bloodline Dominion ability, Void.
In this battle, I used the Drybone Megalodon at tank. The shark deals massive four melee damage and has two speed. He also have three armor and six health.
In second position I had the legendary Rebellion reward card, Emberguard. She deals two magic damage and debuffs the enemy melee units.
In third, I have one of my favorite support units, Conclave Tracker. She has the Repair ability to sustain my tank's armor.
In fourth, I have my Taunt unit, Swiftbeard Stout. He draws enemy fire from my tank who I rely on to do damage.
In fifth position I had the Halfling Refugee who sits beside my Khazi Conjurer in sixth position. He deals a lot of damage but has the Burning ability. That's why I put him beside the Halfling who has a lot of health for one mana.
The Opponent Team and the Battle
The opponent also chose the Fire splinter but my team has better synergy having a mix of damage dealers, support unit and Taunt unit. The enemy tank was difficult to dispose of because of its armor and health but my tank is sturdy too having the Conclave Tracker to repair his armor. Soon both our Taunt units were lost and my Khazi Conjurer as well who burned himself to death. The battle was four of my units against three of the opponent's but his tank is massively wounded while mine is at full health and armor. He cannot touch my tank with Conclave Tracker constantly repairing its armor. Soon my units disposed of my opponent's and the battle was won.
Final Thoughts
The chase is real and it's also the new era for Splinterlands. It's an exciting time of discovery where new strategies and synergies are formed. I already have concepts of a synergistic team and buying cards based on my strategy. There are still some cards I'm planning to buy and next maybe I'll buy packs instead with the cost of individual cards rising. I'll try my luck and maybe I'll pull some good ones.
