Bring it back! Oh the humanity!

Without Survival in Splinterlands I wish for the sweet embrace of the void, the cold clammy hands of death to swadlle me all over and wring the life out of my emaciated body. Ok well that's an exaggeration. I actually just wish for it to come back since I find it to be one of Splinerlands most unique TCG modes it currently has, everytime it goes down it makes me sad that I can't play most of my cards on stream for folks and have to just binge foundations over and over again. I do enjoy foundations but would like to showcase the content of cards from the past. This post is mostly a plea to actually bring back my favorite game mode, and ask the question: Why does it keep going down?

It does make me wonder, are they redesigning it? Are there exploits being used by bots? Is it bugging out for some users? I don't keep up to date on discord the most these days so maybe my questions are already answered. And maybe they are not. All I know is I desperately want to go back to the "roguelite TCG collector" mode in full force.

Survival is Splinterlands most Unique Mode

Survival is Splinterlands most unique mode, I've never really played anything like it in a game like this. It rewards collecting cards (multiples and "bad" ones aswell) and offers the potential for really unique synergies and lineups like in wild mode without the fee, but your cards stay dead when they die and can't be used in other modes. This rewards skill aswell and requires card ownership (you can't really rent for survival without it not being cost effective) and adds a "roguelite" element to the gameplay that is attractive for many users (not just yours truly). Everytime I stream this game I want to show this shit off like "hey look at this cool thing guys, I know you play other stuff but check it out. Pretty neat innit?" But more often than not I can't, this mode seems to be down for maintenance more often than it's actually available to play. It's kindof rediculous tbh, I hope the next time it's up they actually have it be UP for a while. Not just "eh here for a couple days then down for weeks", if it's going to be like that then don't even have it up until it's ready (even though I desperately crave it).

It's good streaming content for SplinterOGs

The game mode itself is awesome, unique, engaging, strategic, and competitive. However an unsung attribute of the mode is that it's a great place to showcase cards and strategies while streaming the game. It's the kookiest and most chaotic mode and doesn't put everyone off of the game when they see you have to "pay a real money fee every season" to play Wild. Wild costing money is onboarding cryptonite and is a massive redflag for many card players. If Hearthstone did that most collectors and players wouldn't feel comfortable putting too much effort in collecting knowing the time they have to play with their cards is actually limited (not just in the "modern" meta but AT ALL). Survival is a way to get around that and not just bend the knee to botting, you need a pretty big collection to play and be good at it. Most of the bots will end up getting their collections "knocked out" from churning and bot lords don't vest massive collections on bots so it's a pretty safe bet this mode will be somewhat less botted than Wild proper just by design. I can't wait for it to come back, please please bring it back.

Talking Tidbits: Bring it back damn it

I mean I just want it back, you guys have heard my thoughts on the mode before. It's great. This is just an active plea to "Please have it actually be up for a while before shutting it down for weeks at a time" that's all I ask. Not even "never shut down" just don't do a few days up and then weeks out of commision. It's such a tease. Anyway, I'll see you folks where I see ya.
