Happy Friday, Splinterlands and Hivers community! Isn't it great to reach the end of the week and enjoy the end of the Modern/Wild/Survival season? Of course it is! These past two weeks I've dedicated many hours not only to the game itself, but also to scouring the market for cards and lands, looking for good deals. There's always something to do in the game, whether it's playing ranked, participating in tournaments, fulfilling your duty in guild battles, or, if you're a new player, taking your first steps in campaign mode and conquering Frontier mode. And speaking of the Frontier format and its Foundation cards, let's start this post by sharing my progress over these past two weeks. We've been in Gold League I for quite some time now, and our rewards are chests and raffle tokens, the results of which we'll only know on Monday. However, my interest is in showing you how we've been doing on our journey to complete our Foundation deck.

Claro que si! estas 2 semanas he dedicado bastantes horas no solo al juego en si, sino también a ir peinando el mercado de cartas y tierras buscando buenas ofertas. Siempre hay algo que hacer dentro del juego, ya sea dedicarse al ranked, participar en torneos, cumplir tu deber en las batallas de gremios o si eres un jugador nuevo dar tus primeros pasos en el modo campaña y tomar por asalto el modo Frontier. Y hablando del formato Frontier y sus cartas Foundations, vamos a empezar esta publicación compartiéndoles mi avance estas 2 semanas. Ya tenemos un buen tiempo ubicados en la liga de oro I y nuestras recompensas ya son directamente cofres y fichas del sorteo que solo sabremos el resultado el lunes, sin embargo, mi interés está en mostrarles como nos ha ido en nuestro viaje por completar nuestro mazo Foundation.
As I've mentioned in most of my posts, Foundation cards are an excellent addition to the deck we frequently use in the Modern format. That's why I dedicated so much time to strengthening these units as quickly as possible, and of course, one of the first things I did was get the Archons to level 4. The Archon goal is now complete, and they've helped me progress and grow quite a bit in the Modern format. Now, the units are still to be upgraded. Most of them are maxed out, but there are still key cards that make a difference, and we need to get them to the maximum level. That's why this week we opened five Foundation packs, trying to find those cards we're missing.
Como ya he comentado en la mayoría de mis publicaciones, las cartas Foundation son un excelente complemento para el mazo que frecuentemente usamos en el formato moderno, es la razón por la que dediqué tanto tiempo a reforzar lo más pronto posible estas unidades y por supuesto una de las primeras cosas que hice fue llevar los arcontes a nivel 4. La meta de los arcontes ya esta cumplida y me han ayudado a avanzar y crecer bastante en el formato moderno, ahora quedan pendientes las unidades, ya la mayoría de ellos están al máximo pero aún quedan cartas claves, que hacen la diferencia y es necesario tenerlas al máximo nivel. Por eso esta semana hemos abierto 5 Foundations packs tratando de buscar aquellas cartas que nos hacen falta.

Okay, so in short, we got three types of Archons, but the most important thing was those two epic cards: Saltwater Mage from the Water class and Lenore Nevermore from the Death class. It's crucial that we get Saltwater Mage to level 3, because that extra hit point makes the difference between victory and defeat when you're already high in the league. The same goes for Lenore Nevermore; she's a card with a lot of hit points that can withstand a lot of punishment while the rest of your lineup maintains a sustained attack.
Bien, en resumen conseguimos 3 tipos de arcontes pero lo más importante fueron esas 2 cartas épicas: Saltwater Mage de la clase agua y Lenore Nevermore de la clase muerte. Saltwater Mage era crucial que la lográramos llevar a nivel 3, porque ese punto extra de vida hace la diferencia entre victoria y derrota cuando ya estas muy alto en la liga. En cuanto a Lenore Nevermore pasa lo mismo es una carta con gran cantidad de vida y que puede aguantar bastante castigo mientras el resto de tu alineación mantiene un ataque sostenido.
Otherwise, we only got two legendary cards. We already have all the Foundation legendaries at max level, and Celestial Guardian was the one I was missing—it's been three months since then! So I got tired of waiting and decided to buy the copy I was missing. It's only now that I finally got it in a Foundation pack. We also got several Dire Bear cards; I have this card at level 4 gold foil, but I'm missing 3 gold copies to get it to level 5. However, I suspect I'll end up getting this card to level 5 in its regular version before I get the gold one.
Por lo demás, solo obtuvimos 2 cartas legendarias, ya todas las legendarias Foundation las tenemos al máximo nivel y justamente fue Celestial Guardian la que me faltaba por levear, de eso pasaron ya 3 meses! Por lo que me cansé de esperar y decidí comprar la copia que me faltaba, solo ahora es que finalmente cayó en un pack Foundation. También obtuvimos varias cartas de Dire Bear, esta carta la tengo en nivel 4 gold foil , pero me faltan 3 copias doradas para llevarla a nivel 5, pero sospecho que primero terminaré llevando esta carta al nivel 5 en su versión regular que con la dorada.
The real challenge lies with the epic cards. My priority is maxing out Asel Alagosdil, the Water class card. I was lucky to get her at level 2 GF, but it's crucial that she's maxed out. I've lost many battles precisely because I don't have the extra hit points this card provides at level 3. The same goes for Lenore Nevermore and Sorrow Harvester. If I want to climb higher in Gold League I on Frontier, these cards need to be maxed out. Finally, and less important, are Lady Amara and Glimmermancer. While I don't use them frequently in Modern, I do use them a lot in Frontier, so I'm not in a rush to complete them yet. With this we conclude this progress report on Frontier, let's see how we fared in the Modern format.
Son las cartas épicas donde verdaderamente está el reto, en orden de prioridad necesito llevar al máximo nivel a Asel Alagosdil de la clase agua, tuve suerte de obtenerla lvl 2 GF pero ya es crucial que la tenga al máximo nivel, he perdido muchas batallas precisamente porque no tengo los puntos extra de vida de esta carta en nivel 3. Lo mismo me sucede con Lenore Nevermore y Sorrow Harvester, si quiero ascender más en la liga de Oro I en Frontier, se hace necesario que estas cartas estén al máximo. Por último y en menor grado de importancia están Lady Amara y Glimmermancer, son cartas que aunque no uso con frecuencia en Moderno, sí las suelo usar en Frontier, así que no tengo prisa por completarlas aún. Con esto cerramos este reporte de progreso en Frontier, veamos a continuación como nos fue en el formato Moderno.
Modern EoS Balance/Balance EoS Moderno
Well, in Modern, unfortunately, I couldn't go as far as I would have liked. I was invited to give a lecture on exobiology at the university, and I simply couldn't say no. I had to prepare a lecture and then spend the entire week presenting this material, arriving home exhausted. Because of this, in the final days of Modern, I couldn't dedicate as much time as I would have liked. But at least we managed to generate a little over 125,000 Glints, quite acceptable for buying the reward cards, which are now my main goal in the short and medium term, before moving on to epic reward cards. Without further delay, let's see which cards we obtained and if we managed to get lucky with a rare gold foil card!
Bien, en moderno lamentablemente no pude llegar todo lo lejos que me habría gustado llegar, me invitaron a dar una conferencia sobre exobiología en la universidad y simplemente no pude decir que no. Tuve que preparar una conferencia y posteriormente estar exponiendo este material toda esta semana y llegaba extenuado a casa, por eso en los últimos días de Moderno casi no pude dedicarle todo el tiempo que me habría gustado invertirle. Pero al menos conseguimos generar poco más de 125000 Glints, bastante aceptable para comprar las cartas rewards que son ahora mi meta principal en el corto y mediano plazo, para posteriormente pasar a las cartas épicas rewards. Sin más demora, veamos cuales cartas obtuvimos y si logramos dar un golpe de suerte con una carta rara de lámina dorada!

And we only got one rare gold foil card, Grove Doomblade of the fire class. I think it was worth investing the 400 alchemy potions in these 80 cards, since it sells for a very good price on the market. I'm even thinking of keeping it since I have a feeling it could become worth much more when they can no longer be unlocked with scrolls. In any case, it's great news, but I have to be careful where I invest my alchemy potions now since I'm starting to run low on them. Let's see which rare cards we managed to upgrade after this massive purchase of rare cards.
Y solo obtuvimos una carta rara de lámina dorada, se trata de Grove Doomblade de la clase fuego, creo que valió la pena invertir las 400 pociones de alquimia en estas 80 cartas, ya que se vende a muy buen precio en el mercado. Incluso estoy pensando en conservarla ya que presiento que puede llegar a valer mucho más cando ya no puedan desbloquearse con los scrolls. En cualquier caso es una gran noticia pero debo estar alerta ahora donde invierto mis pociones de alquimia ya que estoy comenzando a quedarme escaso de ellas. Veamos a continuación cuales cartas raras logramos upgradear luego de esta compra masiva de cartas raras.
Grove Doomblade & Withered Old Sage
Grove Doomblade and Withered Old Sage are two cards that I honestly haven't used in my Modern battles. I tend to use common reward and Foundation cards more than these two rare cards. Grove Doomblade is already at the top of the silver league and learns the stun ability, while Withered Old Sage is at level 3 and, despite resisting magic, I see her as too weak to place in the top positions. We'll see if she's more useful at level 4.
Grove Doomblade & Withered Old Sage son 2 cartas que sinceramente no he utilizado en mis batallas de moderno, suelo utilizar más las cartas comunes rewards y Foundations que estas 2 cartas raras. Ya Grove Doomblade está al tope de la liga de plata y aprende la habilidad aturdir, mientras que Withered Old Sage la tenemos en nivel 3 y apezar de que resiste la magia, la veo muy débil como para ponerla en las primeras posiciones. Ya veremos si en nivel 4 es más útil.
Surgehammer & Torrent Sniper
Surgehammer has become an excellent melee option that often complements my strategies with magic lineups, or when I have to face melee-only battles, I usually combine it with Captain Fellblade to attack the enemy's rear with very good results. Then we have Torrent Sniper, my only Water-class card with Painforge so far. I usually combine it with Shock Trooper to activate Painforge on this card. We've already managed to get it to level 4, so for now, we've accomplished the mission of upgrading it to the top of the Silver League.
Surgehammer se ha convertido en una excelente opción melé que en muchos casos complementa mis estrategias con alineaciones mágicas o cuando debo enfrentar batallas solo melé, suelo combinarla con Captain Fellblade para atacar la retaguardia enemiga con muy buenos resultados. Luego tenemos a Torrent Sniper mi única carta hasta ahora con painforge de la clase agua, suelo combinarlo con Shock Trooper para activar el painforge en esta carta, ya logramos llevarla a nivel 4, así que por ahora hemos cumplido la misión de upgradearla al tope de la liga de plata.
Swampwrought & Saltwraith Bulkhead
Swampwrought is a magic card that I think I've only used once in a battle with the Earthquake rule. Now at level 4, it becomes really interesting with 2 damage. It reminds me of Regal Peryton, only slower. Then we have Saltwraith Bulkhead, a card I seriously underestimated and regret. This card is very useful in low-mana battles; in mid-mana battles, I usually use it in the second slot. Its high health and damage make it an ideal tank. I'm not far from leveling it 4 yet, but the good thing is that at level 3, it has the Oppress ability to deal with units that don't have any attacks.
Swampwrought es una carta mágica que creo la he utilizado 1 sola vez en una batalla con la regla terremoto, ahora en nivel 4 se vuelve realmente interesante con 2 de daño, me recuerda a Regal Peryton solo que es menos rápido. Luego tenemos a Saltwraith Bulkhead, una carta que subestimé demasiado y me arrepiento de ello, esta carta es muy conveniente en batallas de bajo mana, en batallas de mana intermedio suelo usarlo en la segunda posición. Su gran cantidad de vida y daño lo convierten en un tanque ideal, aún no falta para llevarla a nivel 4 pero lo bueno es que por ahora en nivel 3 tiene la habilidad Oppress para lidiar con unidades sin ningún tipo de ataque.
Careless Badger
Careless Badger reminds me a lot of Soul Strangler from Chaos Legion, except this card has the Opportunist ability. I don't use it much because at these early levels, it has very little health, and although its damage increases significantly at higher levels, its low health makes it easy prey for enemies with the Snipe or Opportunist abilities.
Careless Badger me recuerda mucho a Soul Strangler de Chaos Legion, solo que esta carta tiene la habilidad oportunista, no la uso mucho ya que en estos primeros niveles tiene muy poca vida y aunque aumenta su daño significativamente en niveles superiores, su escasa salud lo hace blanco contra enemigos con la habilidad snipe u oportunista.
Alright everyone, this was my end-of-season report for May 1st. We're on a good run despite losing the last 36 hours of ranked play. We managed to upgrade 7 rare cards, and at least we have them at level 3 now. I think with luck we'll be able to get all of these rare cards to level 4 by the next season finale, so we can start preparing to buy epic reward cards. I hope you all did well this past season. Bien amigos este fue mi reporte de final de temporada, el primero de mayo y llevamos un buen ritmo a pesar de perder las últimas 36 horas rankeando. Logramos upgradear 7 cartas raras y al menos ya tenemos estas cartas en nivel 3, creo que con suerte lograremos llevar todas estas cartas raras al nivel 4 para el próximo cierre de temporada, por lo que ya podremos irnos preparando para pasar a comprar las cartas épicas rewards. Espero que les haya ido bien en esta temporada que acaba de terminar, aún queda mucho por recorrer, así que mantengamos el ritmo y sigamos acumulando. Buena suerte y larga racha de victorias!
