Cuba has very beautiful places, what happens is that there are places that are very neglected; places that some I don't even know myself and that it is very difficult for an ordinary Cuban to visit them the way he/she wants to. Through my photographs, I would like to show you the everyday life of Cubans.
Cuba tiene lugares muy bonitos, lo que pasa es que hay sitios que se encuentran muy descuidados; lugares que algunos ni yo misma conozco y que se hace muy difícil para un cubano común y corriente visitarlos de la forma en que se quiere. A través de mis fotografías, quisiera mostrarte la cotidianidad de los cubanos.

The man was agitated next to his Checa motorcycle, because he needed to buy bread and after four hours in line he finally got it. He was surprised to see me with a camera to show the world his old bike.
El hombre estaba agitado junto a su moto Checa, porque necesitaba comprar el pan y después de cuatro horas de cola al fin lo pudo obtener. Se sorprendió al verme con una cámara para mostrarle al mundo su moto antigua.

It is common to find a classic car on the streets of Cuba, I have been seeing them since I was a child. Tourists love to ride in this kind of cars. For me they are already part of the history of the island.
Es común encontrar un auto clásico en las calles de Cuba, desde niña los estoy viendo. A los turistas les encanta montar en este tipo de autos. Para mí ya forman parte de la historia de la isla.

This picture shows some musicians getting ready to give a concert at the Book Fair which used to be a big party in Cuba, but now the prices of everything are very expensive and many parents cannot take their children. The musical group in the concert is called Clave con hierro and their lead singer has a very good voice.
Esta fotografía muestra a algunos músicos preparándose para dar un concierto en la Feria del libro que antes era una gran fiesta en Cuba, pero ahora los precios de todo son muy caros y muchos padres no pueden llevar a sus hijos. El grupo musical del concierto se llama Clave con hierro y su cantante principal tiene muy buena voz.
