invites us to practice gratitude. Gratitude is a way of giving thanks for everything we have and experience. Yes, we've written quite a bit about gratitude; there's always something to say and share. We evolve, and each time there's a different way of feeling it.
This brings to mind a few years ago, not that many (although I already gave thanks for everything and everything in my daily life). At that time, my awareness of this type of practice was more intuitive than conscious of the profound meaning of gratitude. One day, at a Catholic church event, a couples' retreat, my husband and I joined. On the day of Mass, we each had a talk with Father Jesús, an exemplary member of that church. When it was my turn, he asked me if I was grateful. I said, "Yes, Father, for everything." He didn't even ask if I wanted to share anything I considered negative; he simply told me what to pray, and that was it.
I always remember that confession without so much trauma, or anything like that. Afterwards, of course, I was always, always grateful, even for those things I disagreed with but accepted nonetheless.
Later on, small courses about abundance and prosperity started appearing online (I remember on the old Twitter platform, 21 days of gratitude along with short readings that explained the theory and the benefits). One of the activities was to write down 10 things you're grateful for each day, keeping a notebook…at first, it was a little difficult because I had never done it in writing, keeping a daily record with the date and everything. The first few days I wondered, "What do I write? What am I grateful for?" I admit, it was a little hard to write it down, because saying it verbally was easy enough.
As the days went by, before the 21 days were over, I already considered it a pleasure to be alone at home, sit at the kitchen counter, grab my planner, and start writing down my thanks—thoughts, feelings, and if I needed to repeat any from previous days, I did. That was my first experience.
Later, I was advised to do it as therapy. I've already mentioned that I had done this exercise several times; in truth, more and more things to be grateful for kept coming up… I made it my new task to express gratitude.
These days, most of the messages I've been hearing this month refer to gratitude. Now, the invitation to write a post about this, I'll add that the vibrational field manifests itself more each day when thoughts and words are in harmony with this.
Today I thank life for every experience I've had—excellent, good, average, and even those considered bad at the time. Now I see the lessons they taught me and why they happened.
I give thanks for each new day and, at night before going to sleep, for the day I've lived.
I am grateful for the food in my home and that no one else lacks it.
I am grateful for every coin that comes into my accounts, for the opportunities to earn them.
I thank God for teaching me to see the abundance that surrounds me, to understand the multiplication of the loaves, the multiplication of money. When I go to buy just one item and see the price, I can afford other things; I am amazed.
I am grateful for the opportunity to learn to feel, to see the beauty in everything around me, for placing the right people in my life at the right times, for guiding me and teaching me that everything is within me.
And so, each day there is more and more, and this is not just words, it is experience, and those who live it know it and express it.
