Y es cierto en esta busqueda imperfecta que es la vida, mi propósito más firme, mi pacto diario conmigo misma, es ser feliz. Lo escribo y sé que suena a algo común y trillado, a eslogan de redes sociales, pero para mí es una decisión diaria.
Ser feliz es una elección consciente que tomo cada mañana, sabiendo que es una misión imposible, seguramente inalcanzable en su forma pura, y sobre todo, profundamente efímera.
Pero aún así, me levanto y me lo propongo. Y no imaginan en qué pequeñas cosas encuentro la felicidad: por ejemplo, me he sorprendido al pensar: si pasara un vendedor de anoncillos, fuera feliz.
El problema, o quizá la peculiaridad de esta misión, es que soy terriblemente vulnerable. Mi felicidad es una estructura de cristal finísimo en un panorama tembloroso. Cualquier detalle minúsculo, una palabra malinterpretada por mi madre, un silencio de mi novio donde no debería haberlo, puede hacer trizas ese instante de paz en segundos.
Para mí, la felicidad no es un estado grandilocuente del alma, sino algo mucho más simple y tangible, es la sonrisa. Es esa expresión física y despreocupada que me nace desde dentro cuando todo encaja, aunque sea por un momento.
No sé si el buen sentido del humor será pariente directo de la felicidad, pero yo lo adopto como si lo fuera. Me rodeo de personas que ríen a mandíbula batiente, de esas carcajadas que son contagiosas, que no piden permiso y que llenan el espacio con un sonido honesto. Por ejemplo @marabuzal y @yuraimatc tienen risas felices.
Esas risas son como faros en el día a día; me orientan, me atraen y me recuerdan que la alegría puede ser así de ruidosa y de generosa. Quizás ellos necesiten alimento para sus risas, pero también debemos saber que nuestra felicidad es la felicidad de otros.
He aprendido a mirar más allá de la curva de los labios. Hay una sonrisa que, en vez de alegría, aloja una tristeza profunda. Todos la conocemos, todos la hemos usado alguna vez como escudo. Es esa mueca, solo de labios, que nace de la pena.
Hay sonrisas que son actos de cortesía o de supervivencia, pero que no llegan a los ojos. Y he llegado a la conclusión de que los ojos son los verdaderos traidores o confidentes del alma. No se puede fingir con ellos.
Por eso, en mi búsqueda imperfecta, he dejado de perseguir la sonrisa perfecta. Ahora busco la sonrisa completa. Aquella que arruga los ojos, que los ilumina desde dentro y que los convierte en pequeñas rendijas por donde se escapa la auténtica felicidad.
Esa es la señal de que, contra todo pronóstico y por un segundo efímero, he logrado la fórmula de la felicidad, aunque sea por un segundo.

Happiness is ephemeral but necessary.
A greeting to the friends of this community @Holos-lotus who always welcome us with open arms. @tonyes invites us to think about the *formula for happiness.
And it's true, in this imperfect search that is life, my firmest purpose, my daily pact with myself, is to be happy. I write it and I know it sounds like something common and cliché, like a social media slogan, but for me it is a daily decision.
Being happy is a conscious choice I make every morning, knowing that it is an impossible mission, surely unattainable in its pure form, and above all, profoundly ephemeral.
But even so, I get up and set my mind to it. And you can't imagine the little things in which I find happiness: for example, I've surprised myself by thinking: if a vendor of anoncillos passed by, I would be happy.
The problem, or perhaps the peculiarity of this mission, is that I am terribly vulnerable. My happiness is a structure of the finest crystal in a trembling landscape. Any tiny detail, a word misunderstood by my mother, a silence from my boyfriend where there shouldn't be one, can shatter that moment of peace in seconds.
For me, happiness is not a grandiloquent state of the soul, but something much simpler and more tangible, it is the smile. It is that physical and carefree expression that arises from within when everything fits together, even if only for a moment.
I don't know if a good sense of humor is a direct relative of happiness, but I adopt it as if it were. I surround myself with people who laugh uproariously, with those contagious laughs that don't ask for permission and fill the space with an honest sound. For example, @marabuzal and @yuraimatc have happy laughs.
Those laughs are like lighthouses in everyday life; they guide me, attract me, and remind me that joy can be that loud and that generous. Perhaps they need fuel for their laughs, but we must also know that our happiness is the happiness of others.
I have learned to look beyond the curve of the lips. There is a smile that, instead of joy, harbors a deep sadness. We all know it, we have all used it as a shield at some point. It is that grimace, only of the lips, born from sorrow.
There are smiles that are acts of courtesy or survival, but that don't reach the eyes. And I have come to the conclusion that the eyes are the true traitors or confidants of the soul. You cannot fake with them.
That's why, in my imperfect search, I have stopped chasing the perfect smile. Now I seek the complete smile. The one that wrinkles the eyes, that lights them up from within and turns them into little slits through which authentic happiness escapes.
That is the sign that, against all odds and for an ephemeral second, I have achieved the formula for happiness, even if only for a second.
