Today’s prompt for day 4 is Musky, and I wanted to try something different—a monochromatic negative-style drawing. This technique is quite challenging, especially if you’re not used to it. I started with a sketch of my idea: in dark, turbulent black waters, our Ocean Healer dives into an investigation and is surprised by a macabre smile, creating a dirty, murky, dark, and eerie atmosphere.
The beauty of this type of drawing is that I don’t need to focus on fine details—just apply highlights in certain areas to reveal the silhouette of the sketch. I created the entire piece in Photoshop, and playing with layer blending modes allowed me to add some sparkles and glow. I believe today’s goal was definitely achieved, and I’m very happy with the final result.
El prompt para hoy, día 4, es Musky, y quería hacer un dibujo distinto: un dibujo en negativo a un color. Eso es algo difícil, sobre todo si no estás acostumbrado a esta técnica de dibujo. Primero realicé un boceto de mi idea: en oscuras y turbulentas aguas negras, nuestro Ocean Healer se sumerge en una investigación y es sorprendido por una macabra sonrisa, creando un ambiente sucio, turbio, oscuro y sombrío.
Lo bueno de este tipo de dibujo es que no tengo que ir al detalle, simplemente aplicar iluminaciones en algunos sitios para revelar la silueta del boceto. Todo el dibujo lo hice en Photoshop, y jugar con los modos de fusión de capas me permitió crear algunos destellos y brillos. Creo que el objetivo del día sin dudas se logró, y el resultado final me gustó mucho.
