Phlaeoba fumosa grasshopper

in Nature Observer2 days ago

Hello dear friends, good afternoon wherever you are.....

I am back here and on this occasion I would like to show you some beautiful shots of a Phlaeoba fumosa grasshopper hiding among the green leaves. The grasshopper is very beautiful, slender and brown in color. Not only is its body beautiful, the shape of its head is also very interesting, shaped like a cone which is equipped with a pair of jet black eyes and a pair of long antennae that make the grasshopper look unique. At first glance, the grasshopper looks like it is wearing a natural mask.

This beautiful grasshopper that I met comes from the Acrididae family. This grasshopper is one of the leaf-eating grasshoppers with extraordinary camouflage techniques. Given that the color of its body is very similar to dry twigs which helps this grasshopper to camouflage perfectly. The plants that this grasshopper likes the most are lettuce, sweet corn, coffee and other wild grasses whose leaves are still fresh. I found this grasshopper in the grass not far from the coffee and sweet corn plantations.
