At the tip of a fresh green, downy leaf, a beautiful insect stood gracefully and calmly. It was a long-winged grasshopper, or Phaneroptera brevis in Latin. It's a member of the Tettigoniidae family. This long-winged grasshopper is also known as one of the insects with the perfect camouflage.
Look at this grasshopper I encountered, its color blends perfectly with its surroundings. If we weren't sharp-eyed, it wouldn't have been visible. Its colors blended so perfectly. Moreover, it stood there without moving at all, including its antennae. Usually, insects like this tend to move their antennae, but this grasshopper was different. It was perfectly camouflaged.
From a distance, the grasshopper only looked plain green. In fact, its entire body was decorated with an attractive pattern. Its entire body is adorned with fine lines, especially on its wings. These lines closely resemble the intricately arranged veins of a leaf. Unfortunately, this unique pattern requires a very close-up view.
