Lemon butterfly

in Nature Observer9 days ago

Amidst the expanse of fresh green grass, a lemon butterfly stood gracefully on a blade of grass. It stood there perfectly still, completely motionless. If there were a stillness contest in the insect world, this butterfly would likely be the winner.

The entire time I was there, not a single part of its body moved. Perhaps it knew it was being targeted by someone for a photo shoot. So, it tried to be the best and most beautiful model so the photographer wouldn't look elsewhere. I was amazed by the butterfly's performance.

The color combination of this butterfly is truly beautiful. Its base color, cream, combined with black, orange, and blue, blends beautifully, creating a harmonious nuance. The pattern on its wings is truly distinctive and captivating.

Among the intricate strokes of color, there's a single eye-catching circle. Notice the circle in the center of its wing, which resembles an eye. It's orange with blue and black edges. Each line of pattern and color has a long meaning and evolution, whether it is about the long journey he has gone through or about defense and disguise.

Not only that, its pair of curved antennae is also strikingly beautiful. A pair of shiny black eyes reflect the glints of morning light. It's as if those flashes are recording every moment of life around it. Its long legs grip tightly onto the leaf it's perched on.

Its long legs are not only to beautify its appearance, but also serve to check where it is standing, whether it is safe to stop or whether it needs to fly again.

This butterfly is one of the most commonly found butterflies in tropical and subtropical regions. It's also one of the most adaptable butterflies to various habitats.
