Duskhawker dragonfly

in Nature Observer2 days ago

While others were busy flying here and there dancing in the air, I accidentally found someone who was standing still on a fallen tree. It seemed like someone was resting or maybe he didn't like the crowd. He was a Duskhawker dragonfly or in Latin known as Gynacantha subinterrupta, which is one of the beautiful medium-bodied dragonflies from the Aeshnidae family.

The dragonfly was very calm standing there as if there was nothing near it, even though my distance from him was very close. I like his calm attitude, it makes the atmosphere feel very calming. Behind his calmness, you also have to stay alert, considering that he is just an insect that doesn't say goodbye when he is about to fly.

For its body shape, it is the same as other dragonflies in general, long and slender. If we look at it briefly, this dragonfly looks ordinary or even unattractive at all. But when we take the time to observe it for a moment, the appearance it has is extraordinary.

Its eyes are emerald green with a slight touch of bluish. The dorsal thorax is green, the wing base is turquoise, the long tail is black and a pair of transparent wings with a slight brown tinge. Isn't that a super beautiful appearance. Its beauty makes me can't stop admiring it.
