Common sailor butterfly

in Nature Observer3 days ago

Among the damp green leaves from last night's heavy rain, I found a common sailor butterfly hanging peacefully under a leaf. It seemed so peaceful there, unperturbed by my presence. Despite its calm demeanor, I remained cautious. I had a bit of difficulty photographing it. It perched on a very low plant, almost touching the ground. The leaves were still wet, so I couldn't crouch down. But I still tried my best to capture this beauty.

The butterfly's color combination was stunning: brown combined with white and black. A truly beautiful combination. These colors not only enhance its wings but also serve as camouflage. At first glance, it resembles a dry leaf with holes. Furthermore, its perched position, as I found it, further enhances its camouflage, resembling a dry leaf with holes. I'm sure it will fool predators.

Behind her current beauty lies a long and arduous journey. While still an egg, ants and small spiders preyed on her. After she passed that stage, she became a caterpillar. At this stage, she became increasingly sought after by predators, becoming a tasty treat for birds. After she passed this stage, she entered a terrifying phase, confined to a narrow, dark space. Only after she had passed all these stages did she become the beautiful butterfly you see in my picture.

Hello! Beautiful shots of a specimen that reminds me of one I saw yesterday, but which got away while I was concentrating on photographing some bees. Congratulations on such excellent photos! Blessed hugs!

Hopefully you'll be lucky enough to find it next time. Thanks, buddy.

Photographing butterflies are never easy as they're never stable on a spot for long.
Well done with the shots 👏

This time, I couldn't compromise on where he was perched. If I squatted, my butt would get wet 😅

Hahaha keep that but dry bro!
