Black-kneed conehead grasshopper

in Nature Observer2 days ago

In the midst of the hustle and bustle of human footsteps, there is a small corner that rarely gets attention. There, in the middle of a stretch of fresh green leaves, I found a black-kneed conehead grasshopper standing gracefully on one of the leaves there. He didn't move at all when I approached him, as if he knew that I would make him my model today.

His charm is like a hidden gem in the middle of the small forest. His body is slender and long, light green in color combined with a shiny black color on his back. When the sun begins to shine on his body, the grasshopper looks like a scratch of light on the surface of the leaf. When we look closely, the black color along his back looks like a trace of his long journey that was deliberately carved by the ancestors of the forest.

Not only that is interesting about this grasshopper, but his antennae also attract attention, his antennae are very smooth and longer than his body. The antennae are very flexible, when he plays them, they look like threads of light that dance beautifully blown by the wind. Her long legs are also no less attractive, her legs are green, black and orange which blend beautifully with the surrounding environment.

Not to forget the pair of shiny black eyes that are ready to monitor all corners of the small forest that is its stage today. If we take a moment to enjoy it more deeply, this grasshopper is not just an ordinary insect but it is a living poem that blends beautifully with the green leaves under the sunlight that dances between the trees.

In Latin, this grasshopper is known as Conocephalus melaenus, which is one of the grasshoppers that comes from the Tettigoniidae family. For its habitat, this grasshopper is also the same as other grasshoppers in general, liking green environments especially grassy areas.

Hi. No word other than magical comes to mind to describe your encounter with that grasshopper. I love the way you refer to him. Those pictures show him, like a professional model posing gracefully on his green leafy catwalk.

Yes, that's right. It was as if the grasshopper already knew my intention to approach him, so he posed as beautifully as possible. I feel very lucky to have met him. Thank you very much dear for your beautiful comment, may you have a good day.
