Black-banded hoverfly

in Nature Observerlast month

Among the green leaves that hold the coolness of the morning, my eyes managed to catch a tiny creature standing gracefully on a blade of grass. It is a black-banded hoverfly with the scientific name asarkina porcina, one of the most beautiful flies from the syrphidae family. It is not alone there, they are in a group. Only the fly that I photographed perched quietly on the leaf, while the others were busy dancing in the air.

This fly is very beautiful, its slender body is bright orange decorated with black lines that look firm. Its long and slender legs are also orange and slightly black. A pair of tiny antennae are almost invisible, but they like to move. Don't forget a pair of transparent wings that are perfectly spread out. Look at those wings, they sparkle when hit by the reflection of sunlight. If you look closely, the wings are similar to fine stained glass, very beautiful. Moreover, there are fine veins decorating it, looking like a flowing river.

Indeed, you have captured it pretty nicely, with awesome description. Pretty colorful lovely insect!

Does it have a stinger?

no sting. Thanks for your warm comments my friend.

This is a beautiful fly with attractive colors.
Well done with the shots, they are 👌

Yes. Interesting and easy to find. One more thing, the camouflage is also good, the typical black orange color of wasps. Thank you for your beautiful comments, brother.

I had never heard of this little creature before, but it is so pretty, with its beautiful colors and wings. Thank you for these beautiful photos and this description, which has allowed me to learn a little more about it. 😁

Wow, it feels good to know that what I make can be useful for others. Your warm comments make me more enthusiastic. Thank you dear💞

It's too beautiful. It bears a certain resemblance to the bee and my wasp, but it is even more beautiful.

Yes, that's right. At first glance, it looks very similar to a bee or wasp. It's just that this fly is more striking. Thank you for your comment, my friend.
