Viscum coloratum is a type of mistletoe found attached to various types of trees, especially in temperate to tropical climates, although Viscum coloratum is known as a parasitic plant because it lives by absorbing nutrients from its host, but actually Viscum coloratum has various benefits that make it valuable in the world of traditional and modern medicine, historically this plant has been used in various herbal medicines especially in Asia such as Korea and China.

This plant has a fairly unique shape, with a small, branched stem and oval-shaped leaves, the fruit is small (as in the picture) and yellowish green in color, Viscum coloratum does not have roots that can grow above the soil surface, but Viscum coloratum only relies on sucking roots that can penetrate the host tree tissue to obtain water and nutrients, therefore the presence of Viscum coloratum is often considered a threat to the host tree because it can weaken or even kill it in the long term.
