Good night everyone ☕
This morning when I was working in the garden with my workers I was surprised by a nocturnal predator among the grass, this discovery was a bit surprising because this species is usually active at night, I don't know the exact reason why this species could be there among the grass and there was still cool morning dew, in my heart I wondered if this was luck to find them in the morning weather? I really don't know why he was there, this species is more often in the dark by making a distinctive sound that is difficult to detect its presence, but who would have thought this morning I could find him on the ground.
even though this species looks very cute, did you know that this species is very aggressive? so this morning when I found him among the grass I thought that this species was dead, so I took a small piece of wood to move his body so I could find out if he was alive or dead, an unexpected incident happened, when I touched his body this species was still quiet and did not move at all, but when I touched his head he began to show an aggressive attitude by pouncing on the piece of wood several times and biting it, it was a sight that told me that this species was very dangerous, from that incident I understood that this species was not an easy figure to be used as something for jokes, he was really very aggressive when there was contact.
Are you familiar with the species I discovered this time?
In Indonesia, this species is known as "tokek" or better known as a night hunter, this species is more often found in dark places such as old buildings, large trees, caves to dark bridges than in the open, tokek usually hunt small insects near lamplight at night, in some places tokek are seen as annoying predators because the dirt they produce can make a place very dirty, even so the sound of tokek at night becomes a beautiful melody that is very amazing.
Some time ago this species had become a fantastically valuable prey for rare species hunters because geckos were believed to have beneficial content in their hearts, but this has not been scientifically confirmed, I still remember when a buyer on the black market offered a price of $100k for a 2.5 ounce gecko, the news continued to spread through social media until finally geckos became one of the most hunted species.
Here are some photos of geckos that I have captured for you, I hope this post can help you get to know them better, see you & thank you very much for reading ☺️
