I am sure that when we talk about the world of insects, everyone will automatically imagine beautiful butterflies, busy bees or annoying flies, but there is one group of insects that is rarely discussed, even though the insect species I mean has a big role in maintaining the balance of the ecosystem, maybe some of you are asking, what is that?

yeah they are a group of ground beetles and one of the genera that caught my attention to discuss this time is "Genus Cyrtosoma", I found this beautiful species in the forest near the river this morning around 7.30, under the graceful morning sky, dew still clinging to the leaves and of course the weather is very cool, but I have a lot of enthusiasm to explore the forest near the river, and luckily I was able to find them in a place that is not widely known by most people.

The genus Cyrtosoma is part of a large family of beetles known as Tenebrionidae, this family includes thousands of species of beetles that live in various habitats, from tropical rainforests to sandy deserts, but specifically for Cyrtosoma, most of its members live in damp and shady areas, such as some time ago I found them under rotting wood with very damp soil conditions, and from that experience I concluded that this species of beetle lives by avoiding direct sunlight.
