Neptis hylas

in Nature Observer22 hours ago

I found a beautiful butterfly perched on a leaf. After I approached it slowly and took a closer look, I recognized that it was Neptis hylas, a butterfly from the Nymphalidae family which is quite often found in tropical areas of Asia, including Indonesia.

This butterfly has a distinctive dark brown pattern with contrasting white stripes on its wings. Its open wings show an interesting symmetrical pattern and are quite striking, especially when exposed to soft afternoon light. He seemed busy looking for a place to rest, and I watched him for a few minutes before he flew back to a shadier bush.

Finding Neptis hylas this afternoon ended a pleasant day, especially because I was able to enjoy the beauty of this small insect again in its natural habitat. Hopefully their population will remain maintained in our surrounding environment.

NOTE: I first wrote the article above in Indonesian, which is my own language, then I translated it using English with the help of Goggle.
