#needleworkmonday
Hello my fellow needle workers, it’s a new year and I am happy to share this beautiful duo colored shrug. First of all I am going to take some time out to say happy new year to everyone in the community and thank you for the support I’ve gotten in the past few months since I joined. I really appreciate the love and comments I’ve been getting.
Early last week I got a message from a new contact on my account saying that someone referred her to me for crochet outfits (these type of messages usually make me feel so happy because to think people trust me enough to patronize me, post for me and also refer me to their friends and people around them and vouch for me in my absence it’s a really good feeling honestly) we got to taking her order and it was a smooth and easy process, she sent samples of what she wanted to order and we followed due process for processing an order.
She picked a duo colored shrug and I’ve not made this exact design before so it was exciting to work on something new and different (shrugs are really trendy now so most times we get orders for this an it is the product with the highest demand this season)
I started making the body of the shrug and deciding on the number of chains for the spacing was a bit hard because I wanted to duplicate the exact picture she sent to me.
I frogged this beginning a few times because the others were big and at some point it was too small. I finally got to this using standard spacing of two stitches. It came out really well and I just went with it.
After finishing the black part of the front I switched the color to red to make the top part of the shrug, the neck space and the top part of the back was also red so I followed it to get the exact pattern.
Making the sleeve was not so tricky but I had to calculate the number of stitches for each color and part so I don’t make the number of stitches for a particular color more than the number it’s supposed to be. I finished one sleeve design and made a duplicate of it for the next arm.
When I was making this she called to make a few changes to the shrug like the length of the body and sleeve too and to be honest I didn’t have a problem since she called early then she offered to tip me for the changes that she made to the shrug after she placed her order.
I finished up and quickly took a few pictures because she was going to pick it up in a few hours.
This is a list of the things I used while making this hat:
*measurement tape.
*4.5mm hook.
*stitch markers.
*Darning needles.
*4 balls of 40g acrylic yarn
Ps: the pictures used here belong to me and were taken with my mobile phone.
