Hello everyone, so I wanted to make something really basic. After thinking of what to make, I concluded with a puff earring which was a perfect idea because I have just about 4 earrings and they are even for my mom. The problem is that, sometimes she wants to wear them when I want to wear them.
Anytime that happens, she doesn’t even bother herself because knows I’ll always win the fight. By the way, it’s not my first time crocheting earrings but it’s my first time using my favourite color and I love the results. I used about 60 minutes for everything not because it wasn’t difficult but because I’m used to puff stitches.
The materials I used:
• 50g leftover yarn
• 1.60mm hook
• Earring hooks
I started by making the magic circle. I simple wrapped the yarn around my two fingers. I then used my hook to grab the second yarn from the back under the first one and then turned it 180 degrees anti clockwise to yarn over the hanging yarn. I then chained one. The yarn I used to begin the puff is the one(white colour) I would like to see in the middle.
After making the magic circle, I made ten single crochet stitches all around the magic circle and then I pulled the outer yarn to seal the circle.
I started making the puff. I doubled the yarn and made four chains. And then made three unfinished double crochets in the same stitch. Bonus: To make an unfinished double crochet, instead of pulling the yarn two times, pull it just once and leave the rest of the yarn on the hook.
I made another three unfinished double crochets in the next stitch beside it. I went ahead to make 4 chains and then I slip stitched in that same stitch. It looked turned out so I turned it inside.
I made four more of the puffs and then it even filled the magic circle. Whiles making the puffs, I made sure to be pulling the hanging yarn so that it doesn’t make the magic circle loose.
I then attached the earring hooks to one of the puffs and the earring was done.
The result
This is one of the simplest projects I’ve made in a while. It doesn’t require so much time and patterns. I definitely recommend this for beginners. Thank you for your time.
