In the westernmost province of Indonesia known as Aceh. It is a province where there was an earthquake tragedy in December 2004 with a strength of 9.3 on the Richter scale and also a tsunami that hit the land quite strongly.
It is about 3 hours drive from the provincial center. Combing the south west coast of Aceh, and in a district inhabited by approximately 140 people. There is a simple monument with a symbol of ocean waves and a used car unit hit by the big waves displayed on it.
A Tsunami monument that reminds of the heartbreaking tragedy of the people of Aceh, which claimed around 170,000 lives and became the darkest natural disaster in the world.
I had the opportunity to be here and take photos of this Tsunami monument with a simple design but full of sad stories of its time.
