Kickstarter More than Meets the Eye

Comic Book projects had a huge week on Kickstarter, with a Transformer Compendium rolling out with $2,325,225 raised from 5,430 backers. A graphic novel in the Expanse series from Boom! Studios raised $603,328 from 6,458 backers. The Indie Comics Report backed Kamen America Alpha -
a 180 page manga style - the project has raised $90,133 from 1,415 backers.

The Rippaverse Releases Horseman #1

Erics July's Rippaverse had another big week with the release of the Horseman #1. The Horseman is second entry in a vigilante series written by industry veteran Chuck Dixon. The Rippaverse is shaping up to have one of its largest years with close to 50,000 comic books sold through collection campaigns, just 100 days into 2025. Eric July has grown the Rippaverse into a viable comic book publishing company with a loyal base of fans and readers.

Comicsgate Breaks a Slump with Inglorious Rex 3

Shane Davis didn't choke with the close out week for his Inglorious Rex 3 graphic novel raising approximately $38,743 - close to 3/4ths of Comicsgate's total for the week. The Shi Gatecrasher campaign on Kickstarter with $103,897 raised remains the largest Comicsgate project of 2025. Comicsgate campaigns may be lagging behind 2024, in part because of a large backlog of overdue projects.

You know, we've never spoken about this. But I was a comic book freak back in the day. Still love them, but my collection is a lot smaller these days.

Did you have a favorite publisher or series? When I was a kid I loved the New Mutants, and some of the smaller franchise.

Most of collection is digital these days.

Well, I had a huge collection of Marvel comics. I was a x-men freak as teenager. (I have a few special editions still today)

But, I loved Image. I was reading Invincible back in 2007, 2008, had a ton of those too.

But if I had to say which one was my favorite favorite.... probably Spawn comics. Also Image.

The old HBO show cemented my love for the characters.

En mi caso los cómic que leo hoy día son los chick publicaciones. Considero estás historietas de muy alta calidad y con un mensaje constructivo y edificante, para toda la familia.

When I was a child, around 11 or 12 years in age, I remember the Church I used to attend often had copies of the Chick comic books. I haven't seen physical copies of them in years.
