Comicsgate's Six-Figure Slump in 2025
Year to date in 2025 no crowdfunded graphic novel associated with Comicsgate has hit the six-figure ($100,000+) mark. Six-figures has been the litmus test for a successful crowdfunding mark from Comicsgate's larger names (Ethan Van Sciver, Shane David, Jon Malin, Billy Tucci, Graham Nolan). On Saturday June 14, 2025 Shane Davis launched Annatomic, a prequel of sorts to his Inglorious Rex series. As of 8:30 PM Sunday June 15, 2025 Annatomic's crowdfunding campaign had raised a total of $68,355 from 748 backers.
Referencing a tweet from Davis, his previous campaign launched in August 2024 for Inglorious Rex 3 raised $137,000 in the first 24 hours. Annatomic has raised approximately half of that. This is enough for Davis to claim the biggest Comicsgate campaign of 2025 from Ethan Van Sciver's "CYBERFROG: DARK HARVEST. LAST CHANCE! 7 DAYS!" which raised $59,868. Presumably Davis will get a bump from Van Sciver's "Comicsgate Kings" YouTube program which airs on Monday nights.
Annatomic's backers pushed Comicsgate year to date crowdfunding total past the $500,000 mark to a current total of $540,912. Unfufilled projects and overdue books are likely diminishing enthusiasm and totals for Comcisgtae crowdfunding campaigns in 2025.
Rippaverse Pre-Order (Collection) Campaigns
In the past week the Yaira #3 by the Soska Sisters closed with orders for 8,365 books and $303,433 in total sales. Rippaverse Comics is on pace to hit $3,000,000 in total sales before the end of June 2025. The Saints and Sinners campaign for a graphic novel anthology has crossed the $300,000 mark
Rippaverse runs a preorder and fulfillment service for creatives to use as an alternative to Indiegogo and Kickstarter. Chad Larson has launched his DeathShroud graphic novel on the Rippasend Platform. DeathShroud is a 196 page graphic novel. From the campaign page:
