Comicsgate Fades to Obscurity, Van Who-ver?

Ethan Van Sciver, Youtuber and the face of Comicsgate, made an attempt to garner some attention in his one-sided feud with Eric July. The response to Van Sciver's tweet amounted to a shrug. Comicsgate is a loose association of comic book crowdfunders, who appear to perceive Eric July's Rippaverse Comics as their primary competitor. July's ISOM #3 which has been open for preorders for a bit more than a month, has outsold all of Comicsgate's 2025 crowdfunding projects combined.

On Monday March 24, 2005, Eric July posted "A return to FUN in Western entertainment to its survival"; Van Sciver took a screen shot of July's tweet and added the comment:

"I spell "FUN" like this:
F U, N."

Some years ago when Comicsgate was at it's peak relevancy, the comic book segment of Twitter would likely have boiled over into a fury, with heated criticism of Van Sciver for making what appears to be a bigoted joke. As of the time of this report, Van Sciver's post was under 10,000 views.

Comicsgate and Van Sciver, have made their nook of comic books even smaller, with a series of performative conflicts for YouTube fodder. The broader comic book and pop culture audience, appears to be indifferent to Van Sciver and his dwindling fanbase.
