Good afternoon, hive women (and anyone else who wants to read this post) 😊
Why do women dye their hair? Why do some of us do it without going to the salon? These are some of the questions I want to share with you less than 24 hours after dyeing my hair.

First of all, the desire to change hair color isn't new; its history dates back to Ancient Egypt, where it was a symbol of status and beauty.
Hair is a canvas; it expresses personality and mood. It defines us, and it's not just about being blonde, brunette, or dark-haired 😉; it goes beyond that visual expression. A change of image boosts self-esteem and confidence. You feel attractive, renewed, and self-assured. By choosing the color, you can feel in control and empowered.
And so we come to one of the reasons for this post, which arose at the precise moment I was about to touch up my hair color.
Why did I dye my hair?
The main reason: gray hair!!! I don't associate it with aging; rather, my gray hairs are capricious and exhibitionist. They like to be front and center, making themselves known in the hairline around my face (only in that area). How curious, isn't it? Because if they were evenly distributed, I displayed them without any hesitation.
Now, regarding the color I choose, I look for something as close as possible to my "natural" color, a medium blonde (Nevada), nothing like the platinum blonde popularized by Marilyn Monroe (a beauty icon). I wouldn't feel comfortable with it 🤷♀️.
Other reasons are: saving time and money, and flexibility in scheduling. Going to the hairdresser involves travel time, scheduling an appointment, adjusting to the service hours, among other factors. However, when I do it at home using a small kit (scissors, brush, gloves) that I've had since my university days, I can dedicate the time to it, whether it's a full color treatment or just a root touch-up.

And after reflecting on these questions, everything -washing and drying my hair- turns out like this.
