Would you consider remarrying or having another partner if you are a 71-year-old widow/widower? Why or Why not?
If I will consider remarrying or having another partner at 71 years old, after being a widow or widower, well that is a personal decision which depends on individual. But for me NO I will not remarry or have another partner. Though remarrying or having another partner may offer a sense of belonging, companionship and emotional support. But at 71 I will have fully lived my life, raised children, have grand children and a lot of experience to share with them. Having a partner to share the remaining years with, can be a beautiful thing, in as much their is care and support.
Like I said I will not consider remarrying or having another partner due to some reasons, my loyalty to my deceased spouse, and I will be contented with my current lifestyle. Because I have already experienced the depth of love and companionship that I desired by then.
I will be okay focusing on my family, my friends and myself.
In as much as Companionship, love, and support are beautiful aspects our life, I will NOT remarry. Why because maintaining my independence and staying true to the memory of my spouse is very, very important to me. Though my decision is not because of my age but is what I know is right for me to do. Whether I remarry or remain single the most important thing is my own well-being and happiness, because life is all about living it to the fullest and doing whatever that brings joy, happiness and being fulfilled.
