When Helping Others Becomes the Greatest Act of Humanity

Hello dear Ladies of Hive community,

The recent earthquake in Venezuela has reminded us how fragile life can be and how, in just a few moments, thousands of people can lose their homes, their belongings, and even their loved ones. In the midst of such heartbreaking events, there are always people who choose to help without expecting anything in return.

If I had the opportunity, I would first like to thank all those who have risked their own safety to save the lives of children and other survivors. Firefighters, rescue teams, healthcare workers, volunteers, and ordinary citizens who stepped forward deserve not only our admiration but also our support and gratitude.

Although I am not trained for rescue work, I firmly believe that everyone can contribute in some way. I would gladly help prepare and organize donations, classify food, clothing, and hygiene products, or assist in any logistical task that could make life a little easier for those affected.

Working in tourism has taught me that caring for people often lies in the small details: listening, organizing, offering comfort, and trying to meet someone's needs with kindness. Those are skills I would be willing to put at the service of a community going through such a difficult time.

I also believe that solidarity should not disappear once the headlines fade away. Recovering from a disaster takes months or even years, and the people affected continue needing support long after the cameras are gone.

My thoughts and heartfelt wishes go out to everyone in Venezuela who has been affected by this tragedy. May they find strength, hope, and the support they need to rebuild their lives.

Hola querida comunidad de Ladies of Hive,

We all who survive and are able can always lend a hand in deeds great or small. Even if I did not choose a career as a nurse I still had my basic First Aid skills and kept up with the latest techniques and skills. I am now retired from Nursing work but should the same disaster happen in my city, I would volunteer for duty at my local hospital even as I am limited by my infirmity.
