Living in Cuba often means dealing with uncertainty. Sometimes it is about transportation, sometimes about shortages, sometimes about plans that suddenly change. For a long time, I allowed those situations to consume too much of my energy.
This year I have tried to change that way of thinking. Instead of spending hours feeling anxious about what I cannot solve, I try to focus on what I can actually do today. It is not always easy, but little by little I have discovered that this attitude gives me more peace.
Working in tourism has also helped me. Every day I meet people from different cultures, and many of them remind me that life can be enjoyed even when everything is not perfect. That has encouraged me to appreciate the present a little more.
I still have worries, of course, but I no longer want them to take away the joy of the good moments.

Recently I haven't received any extraordinary news that changed my life overnight, but I have learned that good news does not always have to be spectacular.
For me, good news can be hearing that my family is healthy, that someone I care about is doing well, or that I have another opportunity to continue working and moving forward. Those simple things have become increasingly valuable over the years.

Mi trabajo en el turismo también me ha ayudado. Cada día conozco personas de diferentes culturas y muchas de ellas me recuerdan que es posible disfrutar la vida incluso cuando no todo es perfecto. Eso me ha animado a valorar mucho más el presente.
Las preocupaciones siguen existiendo, por supuesto, pero ya no quiero permitir que me roben la alegría de los buenos momentos.

Últimamente no he recibido una noticia extraordinaria que haya cambiado mi vida de un día para otro, pero he aprendido que las buenas noticias no siempre tienen que ser espectaculares.
Para mí, una buena noticia puede ser saber que mi familia está bien de salud, que las personas que quiero siguen adelante o que tengo una nueva oportunidad para continuar trabajando y avanzando. Con los años esas cosas sencillas han adquirido un valor enorme.
Si pudiera elegir la noticia que más feliz me haría recibir en este momento, sería saber que la vida en mi país comienza a mejorar. Escuchar que existen más oportunidades, mayor estabilidad y un futuro que devuelva la esperanza a la gente común.
