Good evening, everyone. You're welcome to my blog.
This is Ladies of Hive #251 week's prompt, and I'm grateful to God for the privilege he has given me to partake in this prompt.
This week, I'm asked to write on the top three values that guide my major life decisions, and which of them I find challenging to practice consistently.
Wow! It's indeed a nice topic to deliberate on. In the world we live in, people have different values that they cherish so much, and those values guide them in their daily choices. Well, I'm not an exception, because I have mine as well.
I would love to share my view on values. I see value as a behavior that usually directs one's attitude and sometimes decisions in life. Values are otherwise known as moral principles. One could easily decide to uphold certain values, which add meaning to their life.
The three top values that guide my major decisions in life are as follows:
- Respect: I see respect as an act of recognizing one's worth no matter his or her background or status in life. It doesn't necessarily mean you must know the person very well. Respect, doesn't select.
You can choose to respect because it's what you've learnt and it remains with you. Respect helps in fostering peaceful co-existence, as well as a peaceful relationship among people.
I've learn to respect people around me. Respect has made me stay around people I never dreamed of.
- Integrity: The word integrity means being honest, to yourself and others at all times. Integrity also means being consistent and trustworthy in everything you do. Integrity encourages transparency.

I love being transparent at all times. It's a value I can't do without, because I've done this throughout my entire life.
- Perseverance: This is the last value I want to talk about. It is important to have this value in you. It means always being determined to do something, no matter how challenging it may be. Perseverance, as the name implies, usually requires patience for success to come.

Perseverance, is one of the values that is challenging for me to practice. This is because life is full of obstacles which could be educational, financial, marital, failures, or disappointments, which could make it hard for me to keep striving for success.
There are times I expect my hard work to yield a positive result, but each time I look at it, it's not always encouraging. So things like this make perseverance, a bit challenging for me to practice.
But that notwithstanding, perseverance still helps me stay resilient in everything I do. It keeps me awake and helps me think about my life.
In conclusion ' these three values are the ones which keep me going. And without these three values, my life would have been so miserable that I could never have imagined.
I'm glad I found them earlier, than now.
Thank you for your time.
I remain @joyben.
