Good morning, Ladies of the hive family. I'm here again to share my view concerning the second skill I would love to acquire.
It's a great privilege for someone to have a certain skill that puts food on his or her table. Skill is what is needed in this present generation.
And anyone who fails to acquire a skill, either one or two, is joking with his or her life. Education is good, but one must always support it with at least one skill.
In countries like Nigeria, where there are so many graduates who are still unemployed, skill is the only thing that could sustain them. This also contributes to the saying that school is a scam.
But come to think of it, is it a scam? No, it's not. So people ought to acquire a skill.
So, if I had to choose a second skill, I would choose Tech skills. You might wonder how it's possible for someone who has not used a computer before to know how to operate a computer within a short period.
Don't forget that whatever action or decision one takes starts from the mind. Any decision that is not from the mind, can not be successful.
I chose that because it's good to acquire a tech skill, especially forex, web design, graphics, cyber security, and others too numerous to mention.
In today's world, technology is applied in almost all fields of specialization. So, acquiring such skills would help me better than before both in my career as a Linguist and also in business as an entrepreneur that I am.
A few weeks ago, I visited my friend at her workplace. She's been asking me to come to her workplace and acquire a tech skill, but I always refused.
So when I visited her last week, she was handling so much work for her clients, and there was no one to help her.
What I saw her doing motivated me.While I was still contemplating which skill I should go for as my second skill, this week's prompt came. And I was so excited about it because it came at the right time.
The first time I heard about graphic design and Corel drawing, I thought it was that difficult until the day I was opportune to see someone doing that.
To me, it's not a stressful skill, and neither is it a highly demanding skill. It needs concentration, passion, satisfaction, and determination.
Cyber security, for instance, is a tech skill most of our young people are now passionate about. But before it wasn't regarded as something that could be helpful to people and the society at large. But now, it has gone viral, and everyone wants to acquire such skills, including me.
Tech skill is my best choice.
