Hello hivers
Valentine's day is around the corner and some people are so jubilant and expectant about this event, for some people this is the only time their friends 9r significant other show them love and care and for other, they are already used to this getting gifts , love and care any time and any day. In view of this , act of service to people you love is essential anytime. So for the #ladiesofhive weekly contest, I show love by turning up for people I care about.
Forget Valentine's Day — how do you truly show someone you care? Is it a grand gesture, a thoughtful gift, heartfelt words, or something different entirely?

Showing love is supposed to be an occasional thing to do not one that is dependent on specific dates and periods of the year. To show can be from the little acts of services rendered to your fellow neighbor or that homeless man and woman on the street, these days I have come to realize that the little things you do for people matters a lot whether there are grateful in return or not. It gives me as a person a sort of fulfilment and accomplishment that I was able to do something reason for someone. While it is notable that some people only feel entitled to show love and care to their significant other only on special days like valentine periods, mothers day or father's day, Christmas season or new year, Easter periods and so on. I am of the belief that it should be spontaneous and happen in accordance to the goodness of your heart.
I am glad that this prompt came up as it afford me the opportunity to put it out that giving should be done in secrecy or privacy. But these what we see on the internet can be so devastating that people use this opportunity to gain fame and become popular in social media. The most funny one I have watched so far is that the guy would see a child sleeping on a busy street looking tire and exhausted under the hot sun but this individual has the time to set up the camera, then go backwards to walk towards the child and give him or her a plate of food and bottle water. I mean, why all that stress when you could just do it and walk away. This is why I like policies implemented in Nigerian orphanage homes, where cameras are not accepted to protect the face of the child.
There are different ways I show love and care to people around me, most times I do it consciously and unconsciously. One of such common ways is by helping people that I feel and know needs my help at a moment that I can offer it. Just like the other day, a friend whom I last saw two years ago was stranded in my state coming from Lagos state. It was so bad that she had no one to call until she reached out to me, having found my contact on our class group chat. The timing was entirely wrong for me and 8 had to give up some appointments for the day to go pick her up and brought her home.
Act of service is a way to show care, because action speaks louder than words most times.
Thanks for stopping by...
