🌼Hello Ladies of Hive
We entered an initiative in the community, an opportunity to share a bit of our life experiences and the reflections that accompany them. Days are full of unexpected twists and turns. One day you wake up with lots of energy, other times we are helpless in the face of illnesses, ailments that we need to recover from quickly because we have a tight schedule and many things to accomplish, mainly taking care of our family. This week's question from @elizabethbit focuses on sharing those personal recipes that we implement in these emergency cases where our health needs to be taken care of, a question that made me remember a special person My maternal grandmother and her medicinal recipes that always accompany me, without that knowledge the days where I feel sick would be complicated.
Her homemade tips have been very helpful to me on those occasions when my bank is at zero and I can't buy medicine to get better, so I want to take this opportunity to honor my grandmother by sharing her recipes.
1️⃣ When you're sick, what home remedy helps you recover faster? Explain how it works.
When an illness visits my life, it's a time I want to get out of quickly. It is uncomfortable to feel the symptoms of an illness. Getting sick always complicates our day and puts us behind in our business. Getting well is a priority, even though sometimes we don't have a doctor nearby and symptoms we can take care of at home with home remedies. On the days when my day is complicated by some ailment, I always have my grandmother's recipes on hand for each case. My grandmother always had medicinal plants in her house and when my mom didn't have any remedy, she always gave her a recipe and I can say that grandmothers have a long list of options when it comes to natural medicine. Recipes that passed from one generation to another and that helped me in times of pandemic and economic crises in my country Venezuela.
Los malestares de gripes y las alergias siempre causan incomodidad. To recover, I choose some home remedies that I can easily prepare at home; here are some of them.
🌼Honey and lemon for coughs:
Honey has many interesting properties as well as lemon and joining them both in a hot tea helps to calm the intensity of the cough, this home remedy is very useful, not only I prepare it for me but also for my children when they have a lot of cough, these discomforts visit us several times a year and having these two ingredients helps a little. Honey and lemon are very useful when I don't have honey at home. When the flu discomfort is very strong, I look for other options with lemon such as making a lemon tea with a plant called Fregosa. In pandemic times, when my whole family got sick, this combination of lemon tea with fregosa was effective. This home remedy is very well known and really brings relief because of the properties that this tea has. Fregosa is a plant that grows almost everywhere, so it is always available to find a solution to coughs and other illnesses.
🌼Deliverer Water for Desinflammation:
Liberator is another well-known plant, useful for pains, wounds, bruises and other physical conditions. The leaf of this effective plant has special anti-inflammatory properties. Once I wanted to get better from a blow to my leg that caused me a lot of pain. Drinking the boiled water of the leaf of this plant brought me a great improvement, since then I always have it present when pain is a problem. Like the fregosa, this is a plant that I trust a lot and it also has properties to treat other diseases.
🌼Stomach pain:
Another common problem I run into when I get sick is stomach problems. An upset stomach brings up several conflicts that can turn my day upside down. Chamomile and lemon tea or taking a spoonful of apple cider vinegar are my options to try to curb these pains and their causes. These are two options that have instantly given me relief.
My grandmother was always remembering the properties of the plants and applying her recipes, there was always improvement, even now for me they are my option to recover quickly from an illness in which its symptoms are not new to me, such as the flu. In addition to these cases where this tea serves to find quick improvement, I always keep in mind that I must rest and eat on time to increase the likelihood of recovering soon. These steps are important to me and, with the help of some recipes that I can prepare at home, it helps me to see early results, relief from illnesses. My grandmother taught us to treat some illnesses with the help of plants, although I do not have them. Honey and lemon are a must for me, as well as a good cup of coffee or another complement when illnesses catch me by surprise.
I would like to invite @graciel-chan to this initiative. 👉Community competition of Ladies of Hive No. 201
