I love beautiful things, and with that being said, I choose the big, beautiful house that requires repairs and remodeling.
If I have the money, I mean enough money to get the type of house I want then paying for the big house won’t even need a second thought.
There are reasons why I choose the big house:
Space: The fact that a house is spacious means a lot to me. People love space because you don’t know what tomorrow will bring. Another family member may move in; you might need space to store things you never thought were important before.
Charm: Old houses have a unique kind of architecture or antique style that makes them stand out.
Long-term value: I can renovate the house and decide to sell or rent it out. Will I sell it for the same price I bought it? No. I will sell it at a higher price, and people with good eyes and a love for beautiful things will come for it.
Customization: Unlike a small, already made house that requires no repairs, I have the freedom to fix and change the things I don’t like. With this freedom, I can make the house suit my taste instead of living with someone else’s choices.
I can even rent out part of the house if I want and make extra income.
A house should bring comfort and peace; it should serve its purpose. I would love to proudly invite my friends over and even have them sleep over and I can only do this because I’m proud of the place I call home.
I know we can’t deny the fact that a home doesn’t have to be beautiful for the people living there to matter. But my love, if that building is not comfortable enough, if the children have to squeeze themselves for a bed to contain them, complaints will start coming up. It builds up and becomes a source of sorrow for the head of the family.
So, as long as I have the kind of money I need to live in comfort with my household, with each of my siblings having their own rooms, then I don’t mind spending a little extra.
Here’s a small question: Would you love to hear, “Mom, our house is so beautiful!” or “Mom, I don’t like this house. My friends make fun of me because of our house”?
