Hello again, girls!
I definitely think I should write daily for this community ☺️. There's always something interesting to read and write about.
This week's community contest #234 made me have to write. Yes, because, perhaps, since I'm a guitarist, you might think I won't talk about books or movies. However, I feel deep down that I have to choose the books.
It's true that for many years now I've listened to more music and watched more movies and TV shows than books. However, if my doctoral studies have taught me anything, it's that I will always have to read and research more. Everything I've read so far has served as a foundation for me to study and write the way I do today.
As the title says, books have shaped my life. Several of the best moments and lessons of my childhood are related, in some way, to books. Especially this one: The Golden Age, by José Martí*.
Since I was little, I have greatly enjoyed the poetry of Martí, Lorca, Dulce María Loynaz, and Nicolás Guillén, whom I was able to meet in person.
There has always been room for a bookcase in my house. Even in my current home, where so many books have accumulated that I would need a whole room just for the library I've acquired over the years.
That's why I feel compelled to place them in various places around the house. That's how I developed the habit of always having a book handy to read.
At home, I have everything from classic books to books by new writer friends I've made since I came to live in Las Tunas (land of great writers) and from my relationship with my husband, Abel Guelmes, who is also a writer.
Being the partner of a writer has its advantages too: we share a love of literature, the arts, and they write stories and poems for you, of course 😁.

This is another of the blessings that books have brought: new friendships across the country. Writer friends who also enjoy good music. Because art is that wonderful.
Without a doubt, books are a source of pleasure, but also of knowledge and culture. I wouldn't be the professional I am today if I hadn't acquired the habit and love of reading from a very young age.
So, I choose books. Without them, we would be nothing.

Decididamente, creo que debo escribir a diario en esta comunidad ☺️. Siempre hay algo interesante que leer y sobre el que escribir.
El concurso de la comunidad de esta semana #234 me hizo tener que escribir. Sí, porque, quizás, como soy guitarrista, pensarán que no hablaré ni de los libros ni del cine. Sin embargo, siento en lo más profundo de mi ser, que tengo que elegir los libros.
Bien cierto es que, hace muchos años que escucho más música y veo más películas y series que libros. Sin embargo, si algo me ha demostrado mis estudios del doctorado, es que siempre tendré que leer e investigar más. Así como que, todo lo que he leído hasta el momento, me ha servido de base para poder estudiar y escribir como lo hago hoy en día.
Como dice el título, los libros marcaron mi vida. Varios de los mejores momentos y enseñanzas de mi infancia, están relacionados, de algún modo con libros. En especial este: La edad de oro, de José Martí*.
Desde pequeña disfruté mucho de la poesía de Martí, Lorca, Dulce María Loynaz y de Nicolás Guillén, a quien pude conocer en persona.
En mi casa siempre ha habido lugar para un librero. Incluso en mi casa actual, donde hay acumulados tantos libros que necesitaría una habitación solo para la biblioteca adquirida a lo largo de los años.
Por eso me veo obligada a ubicarlos en varios puntos de la casa. De ese modo me hice la costumbre de siempre tener un libro a mano para leer.
Tengo en casa desde libros clásicos hasta libros de amigos escritores nuevos que he hecho, a partir de que vine a vivir en Las Tunas (tierra de gandes escritores) y de mi relación con mi esposo Abel Guelmes, quien es escritor también.
Ser pareja de un escritor tiene esas ventajas también, que compartimos el amor por la literatura, las artes y que te hacen cuentos y poemas, por supuesto 😁.
(Por cierto, el libro de la primera foto, es del escritor @roswelborges. Deberían leerlo, se lo recomiendo)
Esta es otra de las bendiciones que han traído los libros: las nuevas amistades a lo largo y ancho del país. Amigos escritores que también disfrutan de la buena música. Porque el arte es así de maravilloso.
Sin duda alguna, los libros son fuente de placer, pero también de conocimiento, de cultura. No sería la profesional que soy ahora si no hubiera adquirido el hábito y amor por la lectura, desde bien pequeña.
Así que, elijo los libros. Sin ellos, no seríamos nada.
