Wow, this was like reading parts of my own life.
Good to know I am and you are not alone. The "dark dog" like Churchill called his depression, is my good old friend. I learned to live with it and don't fight it. And that improves the situation, together with some unconventional meds from time to time.
Great to read, that you mostly got over it.

Dark dog seems an apt description. Sometimes I feel like I'm fighting it other times it's more coping, depends on what's happening. Right now, though, it's def a staying above the dark spiral.

As to unconventional treatment, I really hope microdosing shrroms becomes an more throughly studied and acceptable treatment eventually. It's shown really good results for folks whom nothing else works. (Not saying that's what you're doing. Just what my brain went to when I read unconventional)
