If your family celebrated a holiday when you were a child, do you still have an ornament, decoration, or ritual item that was used when you were a child? If so, what is it and its significance to you?

Hello #ladiesofhive, this topic sounded interesting. Still, because my parents aren’t the Christmas frenzy ones, I was held up there until it occurred to me that there are other holidays, like the children's day celebration, that come with a brief holiday in my country of origin. So here we go.

While growing up with my parents, we celebrated Children's Day. Then, there is always a marching parade where different schools march around a stadium to take a salute from a sitting sole administrator as the first citizen of the state. An award is also given to outstanding performances from schools. Other activities, such as the cultural dance, plays, and dramas, take place at the stadiums of every state of the federation.
October 1st of every year is a remarkable one. My Dad, being a civil servant with the local government from the eastern part of my country of origin, will always take us to the stadium while my mum stays behind to do other chores, including cooking for our home celebration.
I like wearing eyeglasses, so my dad will first take us to a very popular supermarket for shopping. There he will like us to take what we like. I will select an eyeglass. Initially, he will want to change that option, but I will go back and still choose it.

I started itching to wear eyeglasses because I have a friend who wears it around. I believed that it was for fancy and glamour. Before long, whenever my mum is going to the market and asks what she will get for me, I will happily shout Eyeglasses. Later on, the eyeglasses became my go-to ornament. I don’t like dressing up without it. I wear it all around the house.
As time went on, I outgrew the need for toy eyeglasses and started using real eyeglasses. I also realised that eyeglasses are worn by people with eye issues. But then again, I notice that I feel confident whenever I wear it, so I became more interested in wearing it.

But my perspective and significance of the eyeglasses have changed. I wore them to ward off sun rays and computer rays. So instead of my previous notion of fancy and glamour. My anti-Blu-ray eyeglasses are for protection and a Ladylike figure.
