Hello friends. This is my entry for Hive Music Festival Week 129, Round 3. My username is @mfontom. I want to sing one of my favorite hymns. The title is My Jesus, I love these!
The hymn is believed to have been in 1862 by James Dufell. It is a popular spiritual song among churches. The hymn is highly spirited as it is very solemn. We love singing it in our christian religious gatherings.
This hymn re- echoes our love for our Savior. It makes us reflect on the price he had to pay for our salvation. In times like this when christians in all over the world are remembering the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ, this hymn makes our hearts cleave the more to Him.
1 My Jesus, I love thee, I know thou art mine;
for thee all the follies of sin I resign;
my gracious Redeemer, my Savior art thou;
if ever I loved thee, my Jesus, 'tis now.
2 I love thee because thou hast first loved me
and purchased my pardon on Calvary's tree;
I love thee for wearing the thorns on thy brow;
if ever I loved thee, my Jesus, 'tis now.
3 I'll love thee in life, I will love thee in death,
and praise thee as long as thou lendest me breath,
and say when the deathdew lies cold on my brow:
If ever I loved thee, my Jesus, 'tis now.
4 In mansions of glory and endless delight,
I'll ever adore thee in heaven so bright;
I'll sing with the glittering crown on my brow:
If ever I loved thee, my Jesus, 'tis now.
My love for this hymn is because it is a declaration of my love for my savior. I see myself in such a position where I reaffirm my commitment to love my Jesus with all my heart. It reminds me of his love that made him decide to die on the cross for my sins. I believe that this song will equally bless your life.
