Hello Hive friends!
Today I want to share a simple yet meaningful photography, namely a grasshopper that I captured while in the garden. This insect appears to be resting on a bamboo pole that I arranged in the backyard of my house.
📷 About This Photo
I took this photo using my cellphone camera. I tried to approach slowly so as not to disturb the grasshopper that was calm. The brown color of its body blends with the bamboo background, making it look like part of the environment. This is one of the wonders of camouflage that insects have.
🌱 Why Grasshoppers?
Grasshoppers are not just ordinary insects in the garden. They play an important role in the ecosystem, especially as indicators of environmental health. The presence of grasshoppers usually indicates that the environment is still natural and has minimal pollution. In addition, grasshoppers are also often a source of inspiration in photography because of their unique body shape and leg details.
At that time I was tidying up the bamboo arrangement in the garden which I planned to use as a fence for the mung bean planting area. Suddenly I saw this grasshopper still motionless on the smooth bamboo surface. I immediately took my phone and tried to capture the moment. The result was quite satisfying for a cellphone camera!
📚 A Few Facts about Grasshoppers
Grasshoppers belong to the Orthoptera order, and are usually active during the day.
They have large and strong hind legs to jump long distances.
Although some species can be agricultural pests, the presence of one or two grasshoppers in the garden can actually enrich biodiversity.
✨ Reflection
From a grasshopper, I learned about calmness, patience, and how to be one with nature. Sometimes, the little things around us hold extraordinary beauty, as long as we are patient enough to pay attention to them.
