I should tell you the state of the public transportation here in my place, I don't most of the Balinese have ditched them, and rarely use them nowadays. A mix of ego and also bad services drives the decline of its usage. Why I said that the ego played a part in this because we tend to want to have our bike which is mostly fueled by ego to show that we are getting into a certain level of life. Don't ask about walking, we hate them so much.
Also, the service of this public transportation, although it is called public transportation, is privately owned, and they will only depart from the pool (let's say from a market) only when it is at full capacity, thus making the first person entered it to wait upon for the other passenger so that car will be filled. Then it will affect the punctuality of this transport.
This is the kind of car that is used in public transportation, mostly here in Bali, and only still available in the villages. And this belongs to my neighbor. He works as a transport driver but only works in the morning or at certain times of the day. Early in the morning only to take passengers who are mostly the sellers at the traditional market. Maybe this type of car will be the last remaining public transportation available, and it will only be history if the government doesn't think of replacing it with a better and reliable one.
The car has been modified with the luggage rack on top of the car, to be able to hold the goods for the passengers, mostly the sellers of in the traditional market.
