So the last month of the year has begun. Another 30 days and 2024 will be left behind. But I don't want to rush life and I say - we still have a whole month of this year!
November turned out to be warm this year. As the forecasters promised, it was warm but damp. Yesterday, on the last day of autumn, the Snow Queen took another step to establish her Power in our region and sent a snowstorm at us.
Today, my wife and I, along with my dog, apparently took the last walk of this year towards the river along the usual route. The weather forecast shows that 2 snowy days are expected by next Saturday. This means that it will already be difficult to walk in open meadows, walks will be possible only on the road.
A few years ago, I planted 10 oaks behind my plot of land. One tree was unlucky, it turned out to be under the power of pines, which overtook it in growth. Apparently, because of this, this oak has a peculiarity - it does not drop leaves to the ground, they remain on the branches until new leaves appear in spring.
Nevertheless, I will remove some pines this winter to make the oak more comfortable.
In one day, the forest behind my plot became like a winter one. The snow is wet, it lies tightly on the branches of the trees and it gives the effect of a winter fairy tale. It is said that Grandpa Frost himself shelters the trees from the cold with his magic freezing wand. But we do not believe in fairy tales and we know that in fact, it was the Snow Queen who sent a snowstorm to our land.
In fact, I like to walk through the winter forest, especially at the beginning of winter, when there is still little snow on the ground and it is unnecessary to put on skis.
I became afraid to ski. More precisely, I became afraid to ski downhill, especially in the woods. It takes a habit to do this. I just need to get up on skis every weekend morning! And then everything will be fine!
Let's go Forward, forward, keep up.
While my wife is walking quietly, our dog manages to make 3-4 laps and run between us like a shuttle. The dog has a lot of energy, she hasn't been out for almost a week.
The ultimate goal of our walk is the river. There's nothing interesting on it now. I did not expect that the river would already be covered with ice and snow. I thought there would be more clean water. And I wanted to let the dog run along the beach. She loved doing it in the summer.
Well, we have to go back, but by another way to make a circle. There is still about 2 km ahead. Or rather, back home.
Friends, goodbye! Until the next walk.
Well. I wish all my friends, observers, and readers wonderful walks on Wednesdays. And also on Sundays and any other day!
Thanks for reading...
