OpenSuse nunca lo he usado, alguna que otra máquina virtual, pero para el día a día nunca.

realmente estás interesado en el uso de un SO y se te hace difícil en un primer momento, lo que debe hacer uno es investigar y conseguir tutoriales

Lo anterior sería igual para Windows, todos tienen su complejidad, unos más que otros.
