Tutorial "How to Make Your Own Coconut Milk" // Fun Activities in the Garden Next to the House

in Homesteadinglast year

Good afternoon to all my beloved hive friends♥️

Today I woke up with a very tired body because I was very tired from traveling far yesterday, but tired does not mean I can't do something because that is a principle that is certainly different for each person, after waking up I immediately cleaned myself first and went straight out of the house to breathe fresh air and the calm morning atmosphere.

When I got outside, I saw my grandfather sweeping his yard. Although my grandfather looked very old, his soul was still very young, lol. Because in his yard there were several large trees such as mango trees, sapodilla trees and rambutan trees. Of course, my grandfather had to sweep his yard once a day.

This has become my grandfather's morning routine, namely sweeping his yard.

because cleanliness is something very calming that makes us feel calm and happy, so the yard looks much cleaner after my grandfather sweeps the yard

It looks like the yard is very clean so I can feel the calmness of this very clean yard, and what makes me very happy this morning is that I see the flowers in front of the house are in full bloom.

As usual and as I have said before, flowers are one of the objects that play a very important role in beautifying the home yard environment, because their color and beauty can provide a different sensation to each yard.

And when I was sitting in the hut in front of the house, suddenly my aunt told me to look for coconuts to make coconut milk, and this is my main goal in making this post, namely to provide a little knowledge and tutorial on how to process coconuts into coconut milk.

I immediately went to the garden next to my house to look for fallen coconuts, because there are also many coconut trees in the garden next to my house.

I went to the garden accompanied by a friend who wanted to make it easier for us to find fallen coconuts. Not long after, we found a coconut that was still very fresh and I immediately processed it.

And after I found a coconut, I immediately peeled off the skin first, and the tool used to peel the coconut skin is a sharp object made of iron, and in my place this tool is often called "Sundak"

Then the coconut shell is stuck into the ground by sticking it into the ground so that it is embedded in the ground, to make it easier to peel the coconut skin so that the coconut shell does not tilt.

And after the Sundak has been firmly embedded in the ground, the next step is to take a coconut and immediately stab it into the iron Sundak, and shake the coconut so that the skin comes off perfectly.

And this is what the coconut looks like after the skin is completely peeled

And after I peeled the coconut skin, I immediately took the coconut home, and when I got home I immediately took a machete and split the coconut.

And this is the result

And after the coconut is split, it's time to grate the coconut, but because there is no machine yet, I use all the equipment manually and this is what a manual coconut grater looks like, and in my place this tool is often called a kukur.

and the way to grate coconut using a grater is by rubbing the coconut flesh on the grater by moving the coconut back and forth in our hands, so that the coconut flesh is cut into small pieces, making it easier for us to squeeze the coconut milk later.

This is what grated coconut eyes look like

and after the coconut has been grated for a few minutes, the grated coconut is ready and we can squeeze the grated coconut to produce pure coconut milk.

That is the final result of grated coconut, and the last step is to squeeze the coconut so that it releases a liquid which is often called coconut milk, then after being squeezed the coconut milk will come out and be ready to be used for various cooking purposes.

After I grated the coconut, I immediately went to the front of the house to rest again in the hut in front of the house, In the end, I fell asleep in the hut in front of the house for about 2 hours. After waking up, I immediately went to the back of the house to check the water apples that had started to grow bigger.

These water apples are bigger than a few weeks ago, there are also a lot of them and maybe in a few weeks they will be ripe and ready to be enjoyed.

and after checking the water apples, I immediately returned to the garden to pick the cassava shoots which would be used as an ingredient in today's cooking.

This is a very young cassava tree and I am sure that it has not yet borne fruit, but my aim is not to pick the fruit but to pick the cassava leaf tips.

I chose young cassava leaves because young cassava leaves are still very delicious to cook because they are still soft. If we choose old cassava leaves, the leaves will be very hard and no longer delicious when cooked.

and after picking the young cassava leaves, I immediately went home to take them home to give to my aunt to cook immediately. And that concludes my post for this occasion, I hope this post can provide entertainment for all my friends.
