Modern civilizational progress is a really beautiful journey so far. There has been so much sophistication and advancement of technology which has been perpetually giving fresh credence to better our lives and making it scalable and mobile beyond our collective imagination.
In today's world, both the digital frontier and electronic scheme of things have become the capstone of sophistication, yet I personally consider them as the topping over something fundamental.
And I would accord a fundamental weightage to "ELECTRICITY" as the best innovation of mankind because it is fundamental upon which so many other technologies thrive and make human life more sophisticated, fulfilling, and aspiring.
Just imagine for a moment our whole civilization without electricity. Electricity is the fundamental grid of the human socio-economic-scientific progress of modern times. The invention and innovation around Electricity is that pivoting moment of human history I must reckon.
Our intuition consolidates our fragmented spontaneous curiosity into something in the path of invention and later on makes it a functional good-- The scientists become key nodes of this journey--
- Benjamin Frankin- Nature's lightning
- Michael Faraday- Electromagnetic induction
- Thomas Edison- Electric Lighting
- Nikola Tesla- Alternating current

I think there would not be any concept of urban-rural things in any discourse without electricity. When you call you are modern, when you call you live in an urban setup, tech-set up, you are essentially standing on the foundation of an electrical infrastructure.
The industrial revolution would be a utopia on any given day without electricity. Even the digital revolution, information age, and internet-of-things can not usher without electricity.
When Mother Earth bears the burden of 8 billion people, automation and scalability become an imperative. Electricity is directly linked to economic growth as well as Human development indices.
Coming to social transformation and liveability across the world, it is electricity that has provided a fundamental impetus to the human capacity to make a place liveable for humans-- e.g. can you imagine living in a Tundra without heating appliances? Here we are not talking about just survival; rather equally about leading a meaningful, easy, and liveable life in general terms. Electricity has made that possible.
The question of the source of electricity is even more versatile. Humans have realized the importance of renewable sources and accordingly have begun calibrating their carbon footprint. EVs are slowly taking over and replacing the conventional transport system. Human progress will switch to green, it's a long-term objective, definitely, it is definitely poised for that.
In essence, Electricity is not just about illumination, rather it is the comprehensive vehicle of human progress, global equity, eudaimonia, innovation, and progress.
Thank you.
