I've been a fan of projects like INCOME, BRO, and LEGION because they are such powerful assets to hold especially if you are frequently posting articles in Hive. But the problem I had with those tokens is that the barrier to entry is a little high since they already gained solid communities around them and tokens had significantly appreciated in value.
So I was always on the look out for new projects to try and grab an opportunity to jump in early. DUO suddenly got announced in one of the Discord servers I am with and I immediately read everything I can about the project. DUO stands for Dividends, Upvotes, and Onboarding. Here are some brief descriptions of these three elements:
Dividends
90% of all tokens earned through curations and posts are converted to Hive and are distributed to DUO holders that have staked 200 tokens or higher. As with most projects of this nature, the dividends are small but they do add up to a significant value over time if you compound it back to DUO tokens.
Upvotes
This is what I am really excited about DUO. There are 200,000 tokens set aside for sale and all proceeds from it will be used to power up the curation account. The remaining 10% earned through curations and posts is also invested back to further increase power. This incentivizes me to frequently post articles in order to receive upvotes from the curation account. The more tokens you stake, the higher your share of the upvote value.
Onboarding
The founders of DUO are also members of HOC or Hive Onboarding Committee. A quarter of the total Hive power will be delegated to HOC's curation account to further boost their support for new Hive members. Inviting and supporting new users to the ecosystem will ensure the longevity and success of everyone in Hive. DUO holders can also give tips to other users as well.
At the time of writing, the dividend sharing has already started and the curation account has already accumulated more than 10,000 HP. The project is still in its early stages and I am looking forward to its future.
